Bringing you something a little more light-hearted today folks after my mental health post last week. Today we’re talking linen interiors. It’s the perfect fabric for summer, light, airy and so many gorgeous prints. So here is my round up of 12 must have linen interiors for the summer.
The cushion(s)
Lisa talked us through a linen cushion DIY last week but if DIY isn’t something you are interested in there are SO many gorgeous cushions ready for you to pick up next time you pop to the shops. I love this stripy one from H&M Home – it comes in blue and grey. La Redoute have this really cool rectangle one which they have styled in a hammock – I mean, if there was ever an excuse to get a hammock it’s so you can have this cushion right? You might as well throw on one of these Scrunch cushions from Loaf as well because they look beyond gorgeous in all those soft pastel earthy shades. I’ve ticked three of my twelve off with just cushions but can you ever have too many cushions? I think not.
Plant Pot
A pot made of linen? Well, yes. I’m such a fan of these by Phileas on Etsy. The colour of the linen and those handles? They do come in a range of sizes so you can use them for a variety of things – for plants, for large candles or for anything really. They are made in France but they do ship to the UK.
The Pouffe
We used to have a wide but low circular leather pouffe and I loved it. Not only does it act as a foot stool for when you’re chilling but it’s also an extra seat for all those guests you’ll have over the summer months for BBQ’s. This Design Vintage Nomad Linen Pouffe comes in three colours so you’re bound to find one that suits your interiors.
Tableware
Talking of entertaining over the summer months – you will have read Lauren’s post about cleaning up your patio and surroundings ready for your outdoor furniture so why not upgrade your tableware too with a gorgeous linen runner and provide your guests with lush linen napkins.
Curtains
Take advantage of the lighter evenings by hanging some lighter linen curtains. You might want to close off from the rest of the world as the evening draws closer but you can still let a little bit of light in. These Clever Linen drapes come from Loaf. Why are they clever? They are water resistant. You can use this fabric across loafs cushions and sofas as well. Linen curtains can be used all year round of course and if you do want it dark and cosy you can always get them lined.
Throw
So you got your hammock and your cushions but you might want to cover up if it gets chilly as the evening draws near. I love the colours of this linen chambray throw. Throw it over your shoulders, throw it over your legs, throw it on your sofa. Throw it wherever you like its going to look gorgeous.
The Bedroom
You can add linen to your bedroom and your littles bedrooms to create a gorgeous soft relaxed look. For the little one in your life I love this quilt from Zara. It comes in cot size and single and the colours are gorgeous. And for you? We’re headed back over to Loaf for their Lazy Linen range. The crushed Belgium linen doesn’t need ironing and holds that perfect amount of crinkle that I love. Plus I am ALL for not ironing where I can help it.
Candles
Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean you can’t light a candle. I love sitting out in the garden of an evening when it’s still and you’ve got a glass of wine in hand – cozy it up by lighting a few candles and include this White Company Linen Signature Candle.
Have you bought any linen interiors recently that we all need to know about? Do you like linen? What’s your current favourite interiors trend?
Becky – I love the quilt from Zara, how gorgeous. I always forget about Zara home stuff for some reason – thanks for the reminder 🙂
Also I really like a company called ‘Luks Linen’ for lovely Linen throws, they exhibit at local shows but also do on-line and they are really good quality https://lukslinen.com/
Oh Nicola I will check them out! Zara home has some really lovely pieces and the colours that the quilt comes in are lovely! X
I love linen. It is one of my favourite materials, particularly when mixed with velvet. I have the la redoute cushions and they are great but I am terrible at mixing patterns and colours, so they’re not working. I need to reexamine the cushion situation, stat. In case anyone else is interested, la redoute always seem to have discount codes on the go so it is worth waiting for one. I also have linen bedding from there which is lovely and soft and crumply.
Oh Jade, mixed with velvet?! Sounds lush! X
