Over the past few weeks I’ve mostly been shopping for practical clothing to keep me warm in Iceland. Think thermals, long knitted socks and waterproof boots and coats (still searching for the perfect coat with less than a week to go – eek!). All of which has made me desperate for some prettiness, hence today’s post, a bunch of blooming lovely winter floral dresses. Which one would you pick? (I’ll stop with the floral puns now…)

Mango, £44.99

Love this scribbly botanical/floral print shift dress which you could wear for work and then dress up for post-work drinks (sky high heels, cute clutch) or dress down for the weekend (knit tights, chunky boots).

Esprit, £45

The scoop neckline, cap sleeves and elasticated waist give this dress a casual prettiness that would look perfect with tights, boots and a chunky cardigan thrown over the top.

Pull & Bear, £25.99

Save on heating bills by putting on another jumper just like your parents told you, but instead of doing the obvious and throwing it on over your dress, emphasise retro style by putting a polo neck under your dress. Cosy and cool.

Oasis, £45

I’m something of a style schizophrenic alternating between pared-back sportswear and pretty prints. With its scattering of butterflies and blooms this dress appeals to my girly side. Extra points for the unusual just-past-elbow-length sleeves.

New Look at asos, £22.99

Whoever’s in charge of prints at New Look is doing an excellent job (is that a job, person in charge of prints?!). I bought a couple of tropical printed pieces over the summer and their winter prints are just as good. This dress is a case in point.
