When I fall for something I fall hard, whether it’s an item of clothing I can’t stop wearing, a book I stay up all night reading because I’m desperate to find out what happens, or a beauty product I buy over and over again because nothing else compares. These are five things I’m obsessed with right now…

Cherry Bombe magazine

I’m a massive magazine fan, regularly buying most British women’s glossies, along with a not-inconsiderable number of American and Australian ones too. Cherry Bombe, which sits somewhere between magazine and coffee table book, is a smartly written, beautifully designed biannual title that celebrates women and food. Founded by two former Harper’s Bazaar staffers who share a love of fonts, fashion and food it was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. The only downside about it is that, as an American magazine, it focuses on the Stateside foodie scene, so all the restaurants it mentions are an ocean away. Obviously the solution is a trip to America. I’ll already have a long list of foodie experiences I want to try when I get there…

Bumble & Bumble Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Surf Crème Rinse Conditioner

If I can’t actually live by the sea and spend my days surfing I want to look as if I do. This body-boosting shampoo (used with or without the conditioner) gives my naturally poker straight hair a spent-the-day-at-the-beach waviness that I love, without the associated salty texture.

Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Las Salinas

I’ve been feeling like I should up my makeup game for some time now (working with Charlotte has definitely rubbed off) but I didn’t want to add hours to my getting-ready routine. Charlotte Tilbury’s lip-to-cheek Beach Sticks, part of her Easy Makeup in a Minute range, sounded like just the thing. After a consultation at the Charlotte Tilbury counter in Selfridges, I went for Las Salinas, a pretty, poppy pink inspired by the Ibizan beach of the same name. It’s as quick and easy to apply as the name of the range promises, and gives my lips and cheeks a summery glow that looks as if I’ve made an effort, without me actually having made much more of an effort than usual.

Safari Cheetah Slant Tweezer, Tweezerman

I’m yet to find a pair of tweezers that do a better job of tweezing than Tweezerman slant tweezers. However, despite them coming with a lifetime guarantee, I go through a pair at least every twelve months. Either I lose them or I drop them tweezing-end down on the tile floor in my bathroom which, more often than not, leaves them unable to tweeze and therefore completely useless. I replaced a recently lost zebra print pair with this cheetah print pair (yes, my love of animal print extends to my beauty tools too!). Hopefully I’ll be able to hold on to these for longer than usual, if not an actual lifetime.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

You’ve probably already read this already but if you haven’t, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s the story of Hazel and Augustus, two of the most articulate teenagers this side of Dawson’s Creek, who meet at a cancer support group (Hazel is terminal, Augustus is in remission). I completely fell in love with the characters, who in turn fall in love with each other. Not gonna lie, it’s an emotional read. The guy on the till in WHSmith told me I wouldn’t cry, “Apart from maybe at one bit.” Unless he meant the entire second half, which I don’t think he did, he was very wrong. So, so good.
