It’s still AGES until payday. However when the lovely Laura shared her recent Anthro finds with the team I realised perhaps I could stretch myself to one little teeny item. I mean everything below is under £10, and then I remembered I’d splurged on a fancy radiator for the kitchen. Grrr.
Anyway you lovely ladies deserve a little pick-me-up for your home but no-one wants to spend a fortune at this time of year so here’s a round-up of ten decor pieces for under a tenner.
- The Wilko Linen Effect Storage Cubes in my snug received a lot of love recently and at the moment they are reduced to just £8. They hold a lot and look great too. What’s not to love?
- I’m starting to get a bit pintastic about my next project, the bathroom and the M&S Concrete Tumbler has caught my eye.
- As mentioned above, Laura hunted down these ruddy gorgeous Anthropologie Marble Votives to add a perfect soft glow to your long January evenings.
- Did you catch my post last week on mid-week suppers? (Big thanks to Siobhan, the Jamie Oliver Sweet Potato Chilli was immense). I’m increasingly finding more and more new recipes calling for measuring cups and these M&S pretty coloured ones are just the ticket for only £7.50.
- How annoying is it when you rip open your supermarket floral bunch to find one of the flower heads has been decapitated? Usually these little loves are too short for a vase but not with these H&M Bud Vases for only £1.99.
- Haven’t doormats got far more fancy of late? If only my front door had a mat well, I’d be treating myself to this ‘Hello’ Coir Mat from Maisons Du Monde.
- Also over at Maisons Du Monde, their cute geometric patterned cushion would give a little splash of spring to your sofa for £9.99.
- I’m due an Instagram and iPhone photo roll printing session. Wouldn’t the Oliver Bonas Geo Photo Holders look sweet with last year’s snaps on show?
- I ordered a lot of prints from Desenio last year for my spare room (which currently is still a big white box, however I’ve made a breakthrough on the clothes storage – stay tuned) and can’t believe how well priced they are.
- I’ve seen similar lidded baskets for three times the price so I wouldn’t expect these Matalan Woven Baskets to stay around for long. Great for all your bits and bobs.
Any house bargains you’ve been treating yourself to recently? Any gorgeous decorative bits you’ve been adding to the rooms in your home?
The other day I gave myself a £10 shopping limit in the home section of Sainsbury’s to cheer me up on a rainy day. I came out with a candle in a large porcelain holder with a hare painted on it, a floral tea light holder and a large glass with a thick white rim which is my new water drinking fave. Little things but the candles, plus the tulips I bought, have added a touch of spring to my living room!
Sainsbury’s are so good for homeware!
Spring flowers are one of the best ways to get a pick-me-up aren’t they? Not long to go until the days get longer and a bit warmer x
Love these kind of posts! I am buying a new build that’s ready in June, I have no idea where I’m going to store everything in my little one bed flat till then! This weekend I popped to Sainsbury’s for a few lunch bits, ended up in TK Max and I’m now the proud owner of an Orla tiny stem king size duvet cover in ‘griege’ for £40, half what it is on the John Lewis website. They also had bathroom bits, I got the darker tiny stem print toothbrush holder and decorative dish. Then I went to Sainsbury’s and got a gorgeous pink sort of chevron/zigzag print tasselled throw for just £7. Will be lovely with white bed linen. So happy with my bargains!
Excellent bargain hunting Claire!
Brilliant post! More of these please!xx
We’ll try our best Stacy!
I’m *meant* to be on a spending ban for the next few months, but I think those marble votives might be just the ticket to cheer my January up!! xx
They’re so pretty Emma. Let us know how you get on with your spending ban x
Wow thank you so much for sharing the Desenio website! How reasonable are those prints?! I am currently adding lots to my basket……xx
Wow to that Desenio website – what a great find!!! Such beautiful prints at unbelievable bargain prices! xx
Loving the Desenio site…thanks for the tip!
Jean, Kate and Sarah – I was so happy when I stumbled across the site last year. Their frames are really reasonable too x
Just ordered some prints from Desenio last week and the quality is amazing! Really happy with them.
My homeware bargain though has to be a cactus shaped vase from good old Primark for £3. They’re going for about forty quid elsewhere so I was chuffed with that. Their homeware is gradually getting better, if you can see past the motivational prints plastered on everything!
Really good quality Jen. I think I’m going to order some for my kitchen too.
Great find on the cactus vase – excellent bargain!
Loving this post! Have just moved into our new rental and it needs a lot of updating. Enjoying the light bright colours – everything in my new house is brown! My latest purchases have been a series of blue and grey patterned cushion covers from H&M http://m2.hm.com/m/en_gb/productpage.0444960001.html. I’m on the lookout for some small rectangular covers too…
Gorgeous cushions Emma and congrats on the new place too.
I have two of the Wilko cubes and the ottoman (reduced to £14), perfect for stashing toys and other junk!
Well I’ve just been lost on the Desenio site for the last hour. So many beautiful, bargain prints xxx
Where is the sofa from please and do you know which shade it is in? It’s fab!
Hi Anne, in the header? It’s the Lyndon from Laura Ashley in Dalton Grey.
