With the nights becoming noticeably balmier it’s time to dust off your summer duvet and invest in some summer pyjamas.
I don’t know if you tuned in a couple of weeks ago when Lolly and Lauren debated wearing nightwear in the day, but let me tell you, it split the RMS reader nation. I am all for wearing your pjs when you get home from work/on a lazy Sunday morning round the house, so I have hunted down all the prettiest pjs on the high street at the moment.
Hush
I am going to start with my absolute favourites, these flamingo print beauties from Hush. They are fun and flirty and made of lightweight cotton, making them ideal for the warmer nights. Choose from the pyjamas, the PJ trousers or the bed shorts.
Topshop
If you are after something all slinky and seductive then take a peep at this navy-and-black embroidered cami top and shorts. Alternatively, if you fancy something a bit snugglier then this striped loungewear hoodie and shorts set should float your boat.
Marks and Spencer
I have to admit that I like to co-ordinate my nightwear. How sad is that? This dreamy M&S pyjama top and shorts set would fit beautifully in to my grey-and-pink hued collection, plus it features the pattern du jour, the palm print. I’m not sure that it really matters if your pjs are bang on trend, but how pretty do they look?
Second on my must-have list from M&S are these Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Thai Rose Print Pyjamas. You can choose from the short pyjama set or the top and cuffed hem bottoms. Or buy both so you can mix-and-match the tops and the bottoms. I love the vintagey flower print and the flattering teal blue colour. Also, according to the M&S website, you are ‘promised’ a perfect night’s sleep. What’s not to love?!
John Lewis
During the winter my cover-up nightwear of choice is my White Company Ultimate Hydrocotton Robe (in slate grey of course). However in the summer I prefer something lighter such as a kimono, so I am currently lusting after this pastel bloom kimono and matching cami-and-short pyjama set. The delicate floral print and intricate lace detailing on the cami are just so pretty.
Cath Kidston
When I used to hear the name Cath Kidston I would think pretty crockery and aprons, cute kids clothes, ditsy print bags…I did not think ‘cool pyjamas’. How wrong was I?! Check out this Cath Kidston ‘Gnome’ pyjama tee and bottoms. I love the bumble bee sitting on the toadstool and the garden gnome motif pattern on the bottoms! Similarly…how fun are these ‘Guards’ pyjama top and bottoms? And if you’ve got a little one you could even get the sleepsuit or jersey pyjamas and be all matchy matchy. I’m getting carried away now. Back to the sophisticated ladies’ nightwear…
LuvaHuva
How gorgeous is the babydoll and knicker set in the header image above? However not only is it beautiful, but it’s also ethically made and environmentally friendly…it’s made from 60% organic cotton and 40% soy. The LuvaHuva website is well worth a gander and is officially my new go-to place for lingerie.
Next
I am all over this Yellow Button Through Sleep Set from Next with its cute duck print and contrasting black piping. The traditional-style pyjama top has got a bit of a sleeve so it’s both practical and flattering. My obsession with the ducks, and the aforementioned Cath Kidston pjs, tells me that I must be a big kid at heart.
Boden
Although I like to co-ordinate my nightwear, I have also been known to mix it up a bit and team a pair of pyjama shorts with a black or white longline vest. (I know, I’m so rock and roll). I would quite happily wear any of these Boden woven shorts with a soft vest for the ultimate in comfort.
Forever 21
I love a watermelon motif almost as much as I love my pyjamas so I was extremely happy when I stumbled across these Forever 21 watermelon pyjamas. Plus, they look a LOT more expensive than their £12 price tag. At that price, you can afford to buy the elephant set too which have the same pocket detail and ruffle hem. Lyra has some elephant pjs and she calls them her ‘Efelant jim-jam-jamas’. Cutest. Thing. Ever.
Have you invested in any pjs recently, or are there any you have your eye on? Have I managed to persuade you that it’s ok to don them during the day?
Hi Lisa, I have those exact Hush PJs! I only bought them a week ago so not worn them yet. I love Hush’s winter PJs so looking forward to these. I missed out on lobster print ones last summer….did I mention you get a little drawstring bag with them too which is handy for holidays!
Brill article today X
Hi Vicky! I have got to admit I saw your comment on Rock My Family the other day about the flamingo pjs and just had to include them in this post 🙂 Love a reader recommendation. The lobster print ones sound just as amazing. Let us know if they are as comfy as they look x
I got the lobster print shorts last summer, soooo comfy! Definitely tempted now to get some more, fab article! x
Those lobster print pjs sound legendary xx
Another Hush fan here. I picked up the coral feather PJs last month and they’re my new faves. Perfect summer weight and so comfy with a white hoods for chilly evenings

Love your selection Lisa. Those Boden shorts are cute as a button. xx

Oh Karen those Hush feather PJs were also on my list to include but I just ran out of time! Love them 🙂 glad to hear they are as comfy as they are pretty x
Wearing them as we speak for some morning off lounging.
I also really love a pocket so they win on that front too ??
Yup I too appreciate a pocket! Have a lovely morning xx
Oh, I have wanted those flamingo pjs since the Hush summer look book dropped through my letterbox a few weeks ago! I’m the same as Vicky, I wanted the lobster ones last year and didn’t get them. I don’t think it’d be fair to miss out on the flamingo ones too, so maybe I’d better just buy them… 😉
LOVE that watermelon short set too, and it’d be rude to pass them up at that price. I’m also loving this cactus print set from Next: http://www.next.co.uk/g652072s1
I think I’m off to clear out my pajama drawer! x
Hush is clearly the King of PJs. Love those cactus print pyjamas! X
I’ve got my eye on the Rosie M&S ones Lisa – the short sleeve pj is uber cute.
Had a massive clearout of PJs the other week so definitely need a new pair, or five….
You DEFINITELY need five new pairs. What else are you going to wear to wear when you get in from work?! 😉
Ha ha! So true!
Ooh the LuvaHuva ones are beautiful!
Also loving the watermelon print. My 11 year old has some similar from Zara which are her faves for sleepovers. Is it too much to suggest we match?!
The LuvaHuva set is gorgeous isn’t it Amanda! They do it in loads more colours and patterns but I thought the stone blue colour in the image was nicest.
I am all for coordinating outfits…Lyra and I are currently wearing very similar denim dresses…hee hee xx
Do people seriously spend up to £50 on Pjs???!
Where are the 6 quid primark specials?!
Only last night I was in my Primarni striped cuffed PJs Claire. My husband tells me I look like a convict when I wear them though 😉
Oh yes I do have a couple of Primark vest tops to sleep in! Bargains.
Great article. Love Hush too but those Watermelon ones were too good to miss! Just ordered a pair! Also, Oysho do lvoely lightweight PJ’s for summer. Take a look on their website.
It’s like we are connected because each post you have put up in the last couple of weeks has been identical to what’s happening me in some way…paint colours, extensions, Pj’s, wedding outfits, kitchen worktops…so weird!
Ahh thanks Sarah 🙂 How have I not come across Oysho before? Their stuff is lovely, looks really classic and stylish and seems reasonably priced x
Oh dear, rosie m&s PJs ordered.
Hee hee. Enjoy them Sarah x
