Whether you need to drop someone a not-so subtle hint about what you’d like for V-day, or you’re after inspo for a gift to show your girlfriend, best friend or sister how much you love them, or you just feel like treating yourself (which is perfectly fine), here’s five buys that have caught my eye…
Bella Freud Red Loving Candle, £38, Liberty
Ok, so it’s spendy, but I couldn’t resist including this candle which is a mashup of tuberose, amber crystal and sandalwood in a bright red pot with the word LOVING written across it in lettering that looks like the kind of thing I scrawled over my schoolbooks as a teen. Justify it by reminding yourself that it will make an excellent pen pot when it’s finished burning.

Chantecaille Brilliant Gloss In Love, £26, Net A Porter
Another spendy choice, I’m not doing very well on the price front for this post so far, am I? It’s in because the colour’s called Love, so couldn’t be more perfect, and I do hear very good things about Chantecaille products. It’s a pretty pink gloss that contains green tea extract to protect your lips against harsh conditions so that’s basically all weather at the moment (assuming you’re not currently on holiday somewhere sunny, of course!)

Love A4 Notebook, £8, Rosie Wonders
Possibly the sweetest notebook I’ve ever seen. Click the link below only if you’re feeling very strong of will, Rosie’s site is packed with all kinds of cuteness. You have been warned.

Lovebird Mug, £16, Rory Dobner
The intricate black and white illustration of a sunglasses-sporting lovebird and roses around a heart was created by artist Rory as a symbol for love.

Nail Lacquer In Snog, £12, Butter London
A creamy hot pink polish for hands that definitely don’t do dishes.

Anyone got any plans for V-day? Any cute V-day traditions? Do you just do cards or do you do pressies too? Do share below!
Awwwww! These are all really cute!! No gifts or flowers for us this year though as we’re having a weekend in London, still trying to plan lots of (cheap) fun things to do
Ooh, have fun in London Gracie, although it can be expensive there are lots of cheap, even free, things to do!
I love that candle and would have no trouble finding myself a million things, but for my boyfriend… Nothing! Does anyone else struggle? Jumpers and clothes just don’t cut it when he buys me such unique gifts! Help please!!!

I have terrible trouble buying gifts for guys too Amelia, I usually go for something alcoholic, stylish coffee table books if they’re into design, something techy or tech-related, or some kind of experience. I’m not sure I’ve ever really nailed it though… xxx
It’s hard, it’s our first valentines as a couple after years of being my best friend so I want to get it right!
And I massively messed up christmas, he bought me a new lease for my SLR camera and a new photo journal, I bought him a scarf from Ted baker and some lounge pants…

Good luck, hope inspiration strikes soon! xxx
We never bothered with Valentine’s Day until a couple of years ago and realised if you avoid the overcrowded restaurants and tacky heart shaped merchandise it is nice to have another excuse to do give each other a little gift and be soppy for the day. I’ve got the hubby a Reeses peanut butter chocolate hamper this year. I hope he shares some! I have been told he is taking me for a surprise on Sunday. I have to be ready for midday and I might like to wear something nice. Can’t wait to find out what the surprise is….
Yum, a Reece’s peanut butter hamper sounds like an excellent gift Claire. Ooh, I wonder what your surprise is? Hope you have a lovely day!
We’ve been dieting since New Year so our Valentine’s treat is going to be Dominos pizza & prosecco! We do cards, I’ve kept all the ones we’ve sent over the years. Sometimes I get flowers, one year I got some gorgeous earrings. I’m sure there have been years where we’ve not bothered or bought practical things. This year I think I’ll replace his shaving mirror which I smashed a few weeks ago.
Yum, love a Domino’s Kathryn and washed down with prosecco, sounds perfect! I was recently introduced to Papa John’s. Also very good.
