Rock My Style reader Lynn is after a jumper for the festive season. Patterns are out. Soft colours are preferred. A bit of sparkle wouldn’t go amiss. And we’ve got a budget of £50. Shopping challenge accepted…
{Lynn’s Request}
I’ve been looking for some nice knitwear for winter – a jumper I can wear with jeans that will make me feel cosy but look smart at the same time and will work for winter weekends in the pub, sitting by a fire whilst drinking wine and eating cheese. Colour-wise I’m thinking soft shades such as a baby pink or grey. I’m not mad on pattern but a little detail would be fab. I’ve got a budget of £50.
Embellished Jumper, £45, Warehouse
Grey, cosy but smart, embellishment or sparkle you say Lynn? I think I’ve nailed it with this one from Warehouse which ticks all your boxes and comes in at a fiver under budget…

Sequinned Jumper, £35.99, Zara
OK, so I’ve gone off brief here, at least as far as colour is concerned, however this cream sequinned jumper is a buy now, wear forever style and would look so darn good with jeans (I’m thinking grey in particular but I can’t really think of a shade of denim it wouldn’t work with) it made the list.

Jumper With Heart Elbow Patch, £22, ASOS
Lauren chose the breton stripe version of this jumper in our Autumn jumper edit (see here). For winter ASOS have done a slightly different take on the style in a variety of colour ways. As well as the one in the slider above you can choose from grey with slightly darker grey patches or the palest pink with grey patches. It’s cute but you’ll definitely need a thermal top underneath unless you’re sitting right next to that fire.

Embellished Jumper, £46, Topshop
This jumper looks cream in the picture but it’s actually a very pale shade of nude pink. The liberal scattering of sequins and beads adds a pretty and festive touch, without veering into Christmas jumper territory, so it’s not a just-for-December buy.

Oversized Cowl Neck Jumper, £25.99, Bershka
This slouchy grey cowl neck jumper has neither sparkle nor embellishment, but it’s soft grey in colour, looks ridiculously cosy and is such a good price I couldn’t not include it. It’s basically begging to be worn on a Boxing Day walk that will, inevitably, end up in the pub

I want all of these! RMS has not been good for my bank balance recently!
Whistles do a gorgeous soft fine knit jumper with a subtle sparkle, I have last year’s in midnight blue which makes me think of the night sky! They currently have a soft pink and pale blue-grey version in the sale for £45 http://www.whistles.com/women/clothing/knitwear/annie-sparkle-knit.html?dwvar_annie-sparkle-knit_color=Blue#q=sparkle%2Bjumper&tcgid=root&start=1
Oh dear, apologies Fran!
I have this one in navy blue when they had it in darker shades last year – its fab!!
Thank you thank you!
Ok so I’ve studied all 5 in great detail but I keep going back to the first one from Warehouse!! Ticks all boxes – I do love the slouchy Bershka one too though and when I click on the link I see it’s in red as well – colour not in brief I realise but so festive!!
Bravo, job well done 🙂
Yay, glad you like Lynn. I think the Warehouse one is my fave too, but the Bershka one looks SO cosy!
Ooh I want the Topshop one to be cream/white… love it for a cosy January type of jumper as well as Christmas but not as much if its pink as you say. The Warehouse one is totally lovely though and that snuggly Beshka one looks gorgeously cosy!
It’s tricky to tell how quite how pink it’s going to be from the picture tbh. As a fan of grey, I love the Warehouse and Bershka ones too!
Love the Zara one, so much that I looked specially for it when I went shopping today. I saw it on the model in the shop, and when I asked, was told it was the only one left. Whoop – it was in my size, and I think I’m going to live in it all winter! Thank you, RMS!
Yay, clearly it was meant to be Denise!
Just thought I’d let you know I ended up ordering the Bershka one and I’m wearing it right now 🙂
It’s as cosy as it looks!
Yay, so happy you bought one of the five Lynn. I would have totally bought that one by now if I didn’t already have four variations on the grey jumper. I don’t have one with a cowl neck though…!
