Well it seems a bit weird to be talking festivals seeing as I was SNOWED on this week, but the fact of the matter is that Coachella has been and gone and as such I think it’s fair to say that festival season is nearly upon us. And one detail that you can guarantee to see at a festival is the pom pom. On shorts, sandals, dresses, bags…basically anywhere that is attachable. But pom poms aren’t just for festivals, or clothes, for that matter. Oh no. There’s also loads of pom pom bits for the home in the shops at the moment which keep finding their way into my online basket…

Fashion

I’ve got to start with my favourites of the lot…these gorgeous leather sandals from Zara. There’s a million colourful little pom poms and tassley bits attached to these beauties and they would brighten up the greyest and plainest of outfits.

Asos is absolutely killing it with all their pom pom picks. This drop armhole playsuit comes in a plethora of colours – my favourite is this coral hue but it’s also available in khaki, black, lilac, mint and blue.

Denim? Tick. Pinafore dress? Tick. Pom poms? Tick. Here at Rock My Ltd we love a pinafore dress and this Asos dungaree dress literally ticks all the boxes with its gorgeous pom pom detailing on the pockets. Alternatively you could go for these shorts in the same vintagey, faded blue denim which I reckon would be ultra flattering because of the loose cut.

Whilst we’re talking festivals, a must-buy is this off-the-shoulder-dress from Boohoo. Being white, it might not be the most practical if you’re in a muddy field, but who cares…it would look ace with wellies or suede ankle boots and the obligatory daisy chain hairband. And where to keep your loo roll, baby wipes and back stage pass? In this aztec duffle bag from New Look of course.

I’m a big fan of a maxi dress and this one from H&M is so versatile. You could wear it with flip flops at a festival/on a beach, or team it with a denim jacket and tan sandals for shopping trips, or glam it up with some gold accessories and an up-do for a night out. Plus it’s only £14.99. You can’t go wrong. And it comes in red too.

I think Mille Mackintosh has immaculate taste in clothes and this top and shorts combo from her collection at Asos is no exception. This has got night-out-with-the-girls written all over it. (However, Millie, I am still a tad upset over your break up with Professor Green. The unlikeliest but cutest couple ever?).

Booked your holiday yet? If so then you really should invest in some pom-pom related beach wear. I am lusting after this limited edition bikini from the White Company…the pom pom trim would look great against a tan. And of course you need a kaftan to throw over your bikini for when you’re heading to the pool/lunch/beach. This John Lewis beauty is made of lightweight cotton and won’t take up any room in your suitcase.

Not booked a holiday or festival yet? Well this broderie pencil skirt from Boden just goes to show that you can even get away with wearing pom poms in the office.

And finally, I couldn’t not include this fab sweatshirt from Topshop…it speaks for itself.

Interiors

I may have gone a bit over the top with my selection of cushions in this post. But cushions are one of those things that you can never have enough of, right? If you’re going for the bohemian vibe then these Aztlan cushions from Graham and Green will be right up your street. Or there’s this mustard yellow number from Next which also comes in red or grey. I adore the geometric detail which contrasts nicely with the playful pom poms down the sides.

Both Lauren and I have declared our love for this throw from M&S. Annoyingly they seem to have sold out of the RMS go-to grey however I also think the cream version is lovely. Alternatively, you could snuggle up under this blanket from Graham and Green which is adorned with mega pom poms. Perfect for wrapping around yourself at those summer BBQs where the sun’s going down and you can’t bear to go back inside just yet.

When it comes to storage solutions, I’m a big fan of baskets. They bring a bit of texture and nature to a room and are just so handy. You can use them as planters, to store clothes in, and I have even been known to use a basket as a posh loo-roll holder (cue much eye-rolling from Rich). This one from Smallable is so pretty and it would go perfectly in my hallway for Lyra to chuck her shoes into. And I will definitely be investing in the brilliantly named ‘Belly basket’ from This Modern Life for Lyra’s pastel coloured nursery.

Last but by no means least, I am completely coveting these floaty curtains from Anthropologie. Can I please live in the bedroom that is featured in the photo?

Anyone else love a pom pom? Are there any other pom pom bits and bobs that I need to add to my online basket?
