Last winter I had to retire a pair of biker boots I’d had for years. It was very a sad day when I finally admitted that there was nothing more that could be done to save them and I was finally going to have to say goodbye. Now the weather’s getting chillier I’ve been looking for a replacement pair. I’ve given myself a budget of £100. Here’s five of my favourite finds…
Quilted biker boots, £89.99, Zara
With their chunky soles, single strap, quilted front detail, visible outside zip and pretty much perfect height, these could be the ones. In fact I don’t really want to tell you about them in case they sell out before I make it to Westfield.

Leather biker boots, £99.99, Mango
At a penny under £100 these only just sneak in under my budget but make it to my list for the casual slouchiness which would look just as good with a skirt or dress as it would with skinny jeans. The kind of boots you could wear now with bare legs and all winter long teamed with tights or trousers.

Biker Boots, £75, Topshop
Lace-ups combined with multiple studded straps? Yes please! I can totally see myself wearing these with skinny jeans, a plain tee and a leather jacket and stomping around like a moody teenager. Which is a good thing, in case you’re wondering.

Biker boots, £85, Autograph at Marks & Spencer
About as smart as biker boots get, I like the classic but still chunky heel, but it’s the toasty looking lining that caught my interest. As someone who gets very cold toes in winter anything that will help keep them cosy gets a thumbs up from me.

Flat ankle books, £24.99, New Look at ASOS
Some people turn their noses up at cheap shoes. Not me. My favourite pair of heels are from New Look. I’ve had them for years. Every time I wear them they get at least one compliment and a jaw to the floor reaction when I reveal where they’re from. Which is why I’m seriously considering this classic biker style. A pair of boots and change from £30? Amazing.

Have you invested in a pair of boots for the coming season yet? As ever, do share!
OMG – this is amazing! I had planned on spending my lunch break trudging round the shops looking for biker boots and now I don’t have to! Thank you SO much!
I haven’t actually gone for biker boots before but my Chelsea boots from last year are still going strong so I think it’s biker time!
Happy to have helped Bryony!
Unexpectedly, it’s worth checking out the selection at Clarks! Their website has a whole section dedicated to Biker Boots at the moment – http://www.clarks.co.uk/c/womens-boots/biker-boots
Having to go in far too frequently to purchase toddler sized shoes at the moment I’ve noticed that there are actually lots of nice adult shoes too, previous to this I hadn’t been in there for years!
I agree Liz, Clarks have been getting better and better. I got a great pair of suede wedge boots from there a couple of years ago.
I bought a pair from Clarks a couple of years ago. They are still going strong. Probably my best footwear buy !
I am DYING for a pair of biker boot’s, my big ol’ clown feet make shoe shopping a pain.
That said can anyone shed any light on what you wear with boyfriend jeans in the winter without getting cold ankles?!
Hmm, that is a tricky conundrum Gemma. Would high top Converse and chunky socks work?
I do love a pair of biker boots! I invested this pair from Dune last winter http://www.dunelondon.com/promey-side-zip-leather-ankle-biker-boot-0092501020007484/ and although they weren’t cheap they have worn so nicely and have sheepskin in which is a saviour traipsing up to town on a winter morning. They have loads of others too so worth taking a look.
I actually also bought a pair of New Look ones shortly before my Dune purchase. I love the style and thought they looked at lot more expensive then they were…however….plastic is plastic and unfortunately you get what you pay for. Mine had this awful plastic-y smell for ages to the point where it made me paranoid and as you can imagine they just do not wear like leather do. Along with wearing tights they also do not leave you feeling fresh and eventually I gave up on them. They are being saved for a particularly muddy festival!
Your Dune boots are lovely Becca, and I bet they’ll just get better with age, also love that they have a sheepskin lining, just the thing for chilly days!
Snap Becca I invested in those last year in brown – it’s making the thought of Autumn more bearable!
The shopping opportunities (boots, jumpers and coats are some of my fave things to buy) definitely make Autumn more bearable for me Lynn!
I actually think I like the New Look ones best, based on looks alone. Though, as Becca said, I’d be worried about how nice they actually are/feel if they’re just plastic. The Dune boots are really nice and I agree about Clarks having some surprisingly nice boots! They’re not biker boots but I really like these from Clarks at the moment – http://www.clarks.co.uk/p/26101878
The New Look ones are a great shape, definitely ones to check out in store (which I plan to do before meeting friends for dinner tonight!). Ooh, I do like those Clarks shoes Emma – great heel height and colour!
Well I was all set to go and buy the Zara ones but thought Id have a quick look in Topshop and found a pair or leather biker boots for £45 which were just more my style – I’m a happy bunny today!
Yay, excellent shopping skills Bryony! I’ve ordered the same pair of biker boots from Topshop twice, but both times, a couple of days after I’ve ordered them I’ve received an email saying they’re no longer in stock, everyone in a size 5 must be ordering at the same time! I’m on a mission to buy a pair this evening!
The Topshop ones are my favourite. I love biker boots and thick tights with knitted dresses in winter
I’ve seen three pairs on Dune’s website. But have narrowed down to these two:

Or

I just can’t decide. Can I justify an extra £60 for the first ones though?!
