Putting together Rock My Style’s fashion posts means I spent a lot of time online window shopping. Over the past few months suede has been popping up at all my favourite virtual shopping haunts in the shape of 70s A-line skirts, take-me-out tops, shoes from flat to sky high, and more.
It’s also proving blink-and-you-miss-it popular. Case in point the Mango Premium sleeveless suede wrap split back top that I never quite got it together to buy and which is now sold out in every size. To be honest I’m not sure where I would have worn aforementioned top, but I really, really, liked it! I did manage to buy a pair of suede pixie boots with concealed wedge heels, cutout sides and excellent buckle action from Zara, now, obviously, sold out.
For today’s post I’ve pulled together five covetable suede buys that, at the time of writing, were all still available in every size. But remember, when it comes to suede, if you snooze you lose…
Suede Waterfall Jacket, £188, Anthropologie
This jacket definitely falls into investment buy territory but, if you’ve got the money (and it is payday, depending when you get paid, of course) it’s a great shape that would give smart outfits a laid-back edge or dress up casual weekend wear, as shown in the image. An aside but, styling tip, note the t-shirt tuck – cute, right?

Suede Boots, £45, Warehouse
Brilliantly-priced flat grey pointy pixie boots that would work with skirts and dresses as well as skinny jeans, basically they would work with most things. I like the grey, because I generally like grey but also because it’s not tan, which seems to be the most popular shade for suede right now. They also come in black.

Suede Shorts, £55, Warehouse
I’m not sure I would have considered suede shorts until I saw these ones but now I totally want a pair. I would wear them with a plain black or white t-shirt or vest and simple black sandals on hot summer holiday nights. Can’t you just hear the cicadas…?

Belt, £55, French Connection
OK, yes, it’s a lot of money for a belt but with its chunky gold puzzle lock this is one classy looking waist-cincher and most definitely not a one-season wonder. Seriously is there a more classy colour combo than black and gold? I don’t think so.

Fringe Suede Sandals, £39.99, Mango
Fringing is set to be big this summer so these sandals cover off two trends in one. Great for giving all your summer standbys a 2015 update.

LOVE the sandals.
Putting it out there though, I blinking well detest that suede ‘it girl’ skirt from M&S that the likes of Alexa Chung have been seen out and about it…
I won’t be joining the queue for that one.
The sandals are fab aren’t they. Yeah, not sure about that skirt either, it’s a tricky length…
Just got my hands on these blush suede flats for when my feet tire of heels at my wedding. So wearable beyond the big day as well!

They are so cute Katie, great if your wedding shoes start to hurt and, as you say, wearable afterwards too – score!
