Unsurprisingly decorating the house for Christmas is one of my favourite things about the run up to the holiday season. A few months ago House of Fraser contacted us to ask if we’d be interested in showcasing a few of their decoration ranges. I have bought many festive decor pieces in the past from them including umpteen disco balls and a jewel encrusted Eiffel Tower ornament, so I was only too happy to oblige.
This season House of Fraser have four main ranges; Enchanted Forest, Black Magic, High Society and Frosty so hopefully there’s a style for every home.
Enchanted Forest
This has to be my favourite range. I am a huge fan of the natural rustic style and love the combination of rough wood and icy whites, not to mention the adorable woodland figures. As well as a selection of tree ornaments including a very cute woolly reindeer (seen peeking over the top of the pinecone garland in our slider), they also have a huge reindeer head shaped from twigs!
As you can see I chose not to hang the decorations on a tree and instead filled Charlotte’s non-working fireplace with an abundance of woodland trinkets and white lights to add a festive glow.
Anyone who follows us on Instagram will have seen Charlotte draped with the Frosted Berry Garland. If you prefer to dress your room rather than yourself then you could wrap a garland with LED lights to add a subtle ambiance.
Black Magic
The Black Magic range is deliciously decadent with a black and gold colour scheme and heaps of glitter. You may notice the baubles from our first Christmas post last week!
My favourite piece in this collection was the striped glitter baubles (part of a four part set). Though it’s not practical to leave them scattered as we’ve done here I think they’d look equally good on a tree as they would piled in a clear glass decorative jar.
High Society
The High Society Collection is, as the name suggests, an elegant and sophisticated range. This selection is heavy on the sparkle and made up of a feminine palette silver and jewel tones.
I’m a fan of the rattan Christmas trees and wreaths which work really well if your home has a grey colour scheme.
Frosty
What can be more Christmassy than a red and white colour scheme? Frosty is a playful Scandinavian inspired collection and has a cute folksy feel. The laid back and fun range features everything from crackers to lanterns.
Most of the products we’ve mentioned are currently reduced, and there’s a lot of demand for products like the Twig Reindeer Head so move quickly if you’d like to snap up any of the range!
This is a sponsored post.
Do you pick a palette or a scheme to decorate with? What are you going for this year? Are you tempted to pick up anything from the House of Fraser range?
I love the woodland feel of some of these.
My current collection of deccies are a real explosion of colour. Candy coloured baubles, felt paper-chains, toy soldiers… you get the idea. I’m sure a lot of people would think it’s a bit much but who cares, it’s christmas!
Go hard or go home.
xx
Go hard or go home. Ace mantra Karen. I like a good toy soldier….
Oh love the Enchanted Forest collection – so cute. I have an open doorway/archway in my house which I want to do a natural foliage type Christmassy arch under this year (without fixing anything to the wall!) maybe those pinecone garlands could wrap round nicely.
Oooooooh Victoria, I have a whole pinboard devoted to natural foliage at Christmas! Love, love, love your idea x
I love House of Fraser homeware….it’s so good!!!! Just bought myself a new Biba sofa and snuggler chair – all ready for the new house and festive season.
Oooh get you Pamela, very, very fancy x
I have fallen a bit in love with reindeer head. It’s amazing! Also love the pine cones. My theme last year was a mix of white, gold, silver and hessian, and I was planning for it to be the same this year, but Karen’s combo sounds epic.
I’m also going to make a wreath this year for the first time. I’ve booked on a wreath making class with my friend that teaches you how to make a fancypants wreath whilst drinking prosecco. Dreamy. Lauren – after last weeks post I went into panic mode and got loads of my Christmas shopping done one evening this week. I also got inspired by Charlotte’s Instagram post and lots of my friends (and mum) are getting Chanel lipsticks this year. Thanks both! x
So sorry to panic you Sian but at least you have embraced Chanel. You have very lucky friends! x
Ooh I love the stary things in the fire with the owl! Is that a garland?
I’m trying to stick to this sort of silvery white woodland theme, at least in the kitchen-dining room and hallway, then normally it hits december and I go and get an extra tree for the lounge and we sick up a rainbow in there and I like to think its ‘cosy’. I have a whole Accessorize window display in bags in the loft which I’ve used for the last few years and its quite bright so the aim is to give it a year off but I bet I don’t. At this stage of November I have good taste intentions… and December it all goes mental and I start ordering 50 life size LED penguins to sit on the roof.
That stocking is totally yummy! I want to get in it.
How did you manage to get the accessorize window display?! This is very exciting!
The starry bits are individual decorations – http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Linea+Bag+of+4+wooden+bark+stars/199207690,default,pd.html x
Thank you…I love them!
I’m always stalking their window displays… they make great props to set up for our girls courses at work. They tend to either bin or sell anything at change over time so if its a good one I always go in and put my name down for it. This one was 24 cute little advent houses. One set filled each window. I couldnt think of a way to use that one for work (it was a bit big to store). I tried to invent some sort of game that needed 24 numbered houses for something but in the end just bought it for my own house as it was too good not to get. 🙂
Umm, you can actually buy window displays?!?!?! Now dreaming of a massive house and a Selfridges, Liberty and Harvey Nicks window display in it…………..
