If there’s one thing guaranteed to get you yearning for cooler weather it’s the thought of sporting a new winter coat. The shops are heaving with everything from shearling jackets to coatigans. Make yourself cosy while we introduce the edit of our favourite high street coats.
The Shearling Jacket | Ted Baker
Over in Ted Baker’s ‘Under Cover’ section there’s a big selection of gorgeous outerwear. Their navy Faux shearling collar biker jacket is a great spin on the classic style.
The Red Bobby Dazzler | Coast
The boldest colour of this season, this chic red coat has a flattering tailored shape and a high square neckline guaranteed to brighten up your commute.
The Leather Jacket | Secret Sale
Every girl needs a leather jacket in her closet and this Y.A.S draped version from Secret Sales is the perfect addition to your night out cover-up collection.
Charlotte | The Androgynous Neutral | Topshop
I have a parka from Zara that I love from last winter that I will definitely be sporting this season however, I do have my eye on this slim fit wear-with-anything sleek black number from Topshop……..they also do it in a pale grey AND a lush shade of camel. Available in petite too for the vertically challenged lady.
Lolly | Muted Check | Jigsaw
I’m desperate for this Muted Check Jacket from Jigsaw – it isn’t cheap though…. Silky soft due to the touch of cashmere incorporated into the material of this jacket, I’ve fallen in love with this modern day take on highland chic. Rough it up with jeans and biker boots or dress like a lady by pairing it with cigarette pants and sharp courts. Either way you’re onto a winner!
Lottie | The Trench | M&S
When it comes to coats I’m normally tromping round in my Barbour or have a wool coat for those colder days when something smarter is required. I really need something in between that works with jeans and converse but can also be dressed up. Seeing as my budget won’t stretch to a Burberry Trench this one from M&S is a great option. Its the perfect length and looks great open or belted. I’d definitely opt for the classic camel colour and may well be making a purchase this weekend! This style comes in 6-22 so great for all sizes.
Miranda | The Faux Fur Swing | Topshop
Coats and jackets are my shopping weakness (as well as trainers and workout kit generally) and I have to stop myself adding to my collection every year as autumn rolls around. I really don’t need another coat but I love this faux fur animal print swing coat from Topshop. I’ve tried it on in store and it’s strokably soft. I managed to walk away without buying it but I can’t stop thinking about it. I could throw it on over the simplest jeans, tee and trainers look and still feel a little bit rock and roll. What am I saying I totally need it, don’t I?!
Becky | The Coatigan | Zara
I LOVE this double sided coat from Zara. I adore the length, it’s two of my favourite colours and will go with everything in my wardrobe. Also it’s machine washable and with a small child who often has sticky hands/ muddy feet (which when he wants to be carried are guaranteed to mark whatever I’m wearing) it’s really practical for me as well as looking chic.
Lorna | The Parka | Oasis
I’ve been eyeing up this Parka from Oasis. I love it has a detachable fur lining so I can keep cosy on the football sidelines during the winter. When the weather turns a bit warmer but wetter I can remove the lining and look cool keeping dry.
I also have to give a little mention to the New Look Camel Boyfriend Coat. It’s under £30 so well worth a look!
Anyone inspired to shop for their new season coat this weekend? What outerwear have you been eyeing up recently?
Always love a leopard coat! xx
Me too Caroline!
I’ve just got this from HM, its super cosy and a total bargain. Last year I got a Gloverall duffle coat which will hopefully get lots of wear again too once the weather gets cooler.

Love this Rachel. Gutted I didn’t order this before most sizes went out of stock x
That Jigsaw checked jacket is LUSHHHH!
Damn you RMS
Claire I might have accidentally bought the coat yesterday. It was ten percent off at Jigsaw (which never happens!) and I had an unexpected windfall (I had a refund on some shoes that kept falling to bits despite replacement pairs) so I used the money towards the coat instead. Just need the colder weather to appear now!
I am well jel now 🙂
Lolly always has great taste! X
Another one LOVING that Jigsaw coat!!
It’s gorgeous Emma. So versatile too x
The parka is also called Laura. It’s a sign!
Laura I insist you buy it!
You must Laura!
