Subscription boxes are becoming more and more popular with anything from food to beauty products being delivered to our doors and desks.
We were recently the lucky recipients of a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Bloom & Wild, perfectly packaged into a protective box designed to fit straight through the letterbox.

As well as being totally unique in this form of offering, Bloom & Wild also offer a variety of options where you can arrange a single one-off bouquet to be delivered to a friend (for a very respectable £16.95) or take advantage of an ongoing subscription to have weekly, fortnightly or monthly flowers delivered where the cost reduces to £13.95 per bouquet.
We received our gift when we were shooting at Iscoyd Park with Ben from Touch Photography. Both Adam and Ben were intrigued by the concept and were very keen to snap their way through the whole process. Our bunch contained lilies and by the end of a day’s shooting they still hadn’t decided to make an appearance so Adam took them home to practice his flower arranging skills.
Now I have been the lucky recipient of a few bouquets in the past and sometimes they haven’t travelled particularly well. The great thing about florals from Bloom & Wild is you are essentially receiving an order of elegant stems to arrange yourself rather than a ready-made arrangement. There are tips included in the package so you are guided along in the process. The flowers are packed so securely that they arrive in great condition with no lost heads along the way. As the stems are all cut to order, there’s minimal wastage for the company and you receive exceptionally fresh flowers.
Our arrangement of lilies, lisianthus and pussy willow lasted well over a week. Deliveries are made on Tuesdays and Thursdays but as the box fits through the letterbox you don’t need to stay at home waiting for a courier to arrive. Bloom & Wild offer three different collections: the Bright & Wild (From £13.95 for a single bouquet or £40 for 3 bouquets), Chic & Wild (From £16.95 for a single bouquet, £50 for 3 bouquets) and the Luxe and Wild (premium-larger-than-postbox size, From £23.95 for a single bouquet)
Considering the large amount of stems, quality and freshness of the flowers and the free delivery we were all in agreement that £16.95 is exceptionally good value for a one-off Bright & Wild Bouquet. A subscription would make a really lovely thank you gift or birthday present, or perfect if you want to treat yourself with a little splurge.
Do you receive any subscription boxes? Are you tempted to give any try?

I can’t believe they come through the letter box?! I’ve just sent a link to a friend of mine that always has flowers out I wonder if this is better value? I’ve just signed up to my first subscription at Vegan kind to help my health kick 🙂
I know! There were so many stems in there too but they weren’t damaged at all.
Oooh just taking a look at Vegan Kind…
My mum organised for us to receive Love Lula beauty box subscription. It was really nice but I thought quite wasteful as sometimes things would arrive I just wouldn’t ever use. It was a fun parcel to receive though.
Flowers wise, Scilly Flowers do boxes and are very reasonable. Always been good quality and in the spring they do lovely scented narcissi. I’ve only ever received or given one offs. Lovely the idea of monthly flowers in the post perhaps I’ll send the link to my husband.
I suppose that can be the difficult thing with beauty boxes – sometimes you’ll get something you’d never have dreamed of trying (and love it) and other times something that’s just not suitable. Like you say though it must be a fun parcel to receive.
The Birchbox you mention perhaps looks a bit better than the Love Lula one, less obscure products.
This is a BRILLIANT idea!! I would definitely consider this and the price is so reasonable!
Ha ha Claire and such good quality too 🙂
Also have just looked on Vegan kind…. Charlotte have you seen this stuff?? http://coconom.com/our-products/original-coconut-sugar/ x
We looked into doing this for my mum for her 60th birthday. A lot of florists these days offer packages of ‘flowers for a year’ but they are ruddy expensive! I did look at Bloom and Wild in my searches and considered it but was worried that just the three styles were a bit restrictive and also if it’s a gift you really want the WOW factor, not necessarily a cardboard box dropping through your letter box – even if it does contain lovely blooms inside! In the end, we opted to just put an amount of money on an account at her favourite florist, that way, whenever she wants, or has an occasion happening at the house she can pop in and choose whatever she likes! I do think this is a great idea though if you’re someone who does always have flowers in their home.
Such a lovely idea Pamela to give someone the option to have regular flowers as a gift.
Just had a glance at some of these ‘flowers for a year’ option and like you say they are flipping expensive! Great to see there are so many options available now for subscriptions and floral gifts for all pockets.
Graze is also another company that offers little postal delights on a weekly basis. This is of the edible kind, but you can choose from several different options. I subscribed for a while and really enjoyed them landing on my desk every week 🙂
Have you tried Graze’s popcorn Emma? The twist of black pepper version is so good!
No I haven’t Lauren – I previously subscribed to Graze when they were just starting out (so about three/four years ago now) and then stopped because I wasn’t getting through it quickly enough! I am tempted to try it again so the popcorn will be on my list 🙂
Lauren, I love the way you had to mention that it’s my floral arrangement skills on display here… I did my best!!
I think they look lovely Adam! I couldn’t take credit for that amazeballs staircase and pass it off as an arrangement in my own house 😉
I have subscribed to the letterbox arrangement.. and I have to say I am not as enthusiastic as you are. Firstly, the flowers arrived very tired. But most importantly, there was not so many bunches in the box and the size of the arrangement was probably half of what would be needed to get a real WAOW! factor. Also, all the buds where small ones. Finally, it is the same flowers as the ones you get at Tesco, the same flowers I have seen in arrangements for 20 years (yarn).
Of course, through a letterbox, you cant do magic so I should have guessed that it would be very limited..
