Sliders or slides? What do you call them? Maybe you call them mules? Whatever you refer to them as I need them in my life. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in my spring dresses post that I’m looking forward to trying to ditch the jeans a bit this spring/summer so it would be nice to have some more open footwear to go with all these fabulous new dresses I have my eye on instead of my staple Adidas Stan Smith (if you’re interested in these, go half a size down for a good fit!)
There are tonnes of different options for us with sliders, gone are they days where they are just worn around the pool (or around the house as slippers with socks). I’ve broken my favourite finds for you down to three categories; sporty, casual and dressy. Here goes.
Sporty
Lets start with what for me is the classic slider. A black and white Adidas slider. You can get most sizes on sale over at ASOS. If a more subtle shade is up your street, you could go for this blush pair. You know I love a bit of blush.
Stand out pool side with this crisp white pair from Nike. Equally these jelly slides from Topshop come in this fantastic hot pink. There’s something about jelly sandals that take me way back to my youth.
I love these quirky black and white slides from Off-White. At least you’ll know which slide is for which foot if you’ve had one to many mojito’s around the pool bar!
Will Zara ever fail us? I love the colour of these red contrast sliders. They have SO many good sandals at the minute – you should probably check out the full range on offer. And the last lot in the sporty section is these two strap sliders from Joules. They could’ve well fitted in to the casual section with their leather straps and suede footbed but something about the soul makes them look really sporty.
Casual
So what to rock with your daisy dukes? These lot are perfect to slide on for your daytime looks. I couldn’t leave out a fluffy pair could I? I’m a big fan of Steve Madden and I think these softey sliders are the perfect balance between discreet and OTT – just the right about of fluff.
If you’re after a bit of added height these forever comfort leather mules should fit the bill. A gold based sandal is a staple part of my summer wardrobe. They go with everything. The shade of these toffee espadrille sliders from Toms is also another of those colours that suits all skin tones and goes with everything.
A firm favourite with quite a few members of team Rock My Style is the Saltwater. I love them in white. Or what about a woven slider? Love the stitching detail around the sole on these from Topshop. If you’re after a more delicate slider, these leather ones from Zara are perfect. Especially with that little metallic glint at the heel.
We know you love a stripe so I couldn’t not share these Isabelle sliders from Boohoo. and where you love a stripe I love a leopard print, so these faraway leopard print slides are really for me.
Dressy
We’ve covered the pool and tottering about in the day so now it’s onto the evening and we kick off with Steve Madden Dazzle slides. Glam. And talking of glam, check the colour of these blue buckle mules.
Tassles, pom poms? Yep, I’ve got both for you. Missguided have these fabulous blush tassel sliders and I think my fave pom pom offering comes from ASOS in the form of their penelope slides. And what about bows? There is no escaping them is there so let’s just embrace them! These colour pop ones from J-Crew are epic. Then there this more demure shade of green from these chunkier satin bow slides from ASOS.
On her recent weekly shop Lisa spied these lovey gold slides from George at Asda. What a bargain. And I think I’m going to leave you with these orange jacquard slides from River Island. Because they’re orange. And people don’t wear enough orange.
Becky I love your shopping pick posts! I wouldn’t have thought I’m a slider kind of girl but I can see myself living in those Zara ones! Will be adding to basket today….
Thank you Susan 🙂 I’m so excited for mine to arrive… have a feeling I will be living in them too! x
Totally loving her look in the header. So effortless. A bit Meghan Markle on an off-duty day (if she’s allowed those now?!)
I am 100% emulating this look as soon as my order arrives. I’m going to call it school run casual chic. I reckon Megs totally wears sliders around the palace 😉
Those leopard print ones tho ❤️
I never thought i’d go for these, but I actually like them. Are they comfortable to walk around in properly and do they fall off?
Yes, that’s my issue with any sliders I’ve tried, they are just not comfortable to walk in. Like the look of the saltwater ones though, so am interested to know what they are like to walk in.
Lisa the Saltwater ones are super comfy and easy to walk in! Autumn’s definitely arrived in Australia but I spent the entire summer running round in a pair of tan saltwater slides, they never tripped me up or slipped off my feet once!
They go with everything and I wore them to the beach and out for dinner. In case you can’t tell, I love them!
Ohhh, sounds like I need to go order them now. I usually live in havianna flip flops all summer. Reckon I need a change. Thanks!
Jade mine arrived at the weekend (I have gone for the classic Adidas to start with) and I really like them. The sole is sort of moulded and really comfortable 🙂
Thanks for the great edit! I’ve never bought anything from BooHoo before ( and never owned sliders before!) but my new green sliders arrived today and I LOVE them!! Such good quality for only £18. FYI- they are having some great postage offers at the moment.
