It’s been an altogether disconcerting 2017 for everyone.
I promise not to bore you senseless with endless new years resolutions or endeavour to interrupt your mince pies and mulled wine with my unrelenting optimism. At times I’ve felt as overwhelmed with the current political climate as the next person, it truly is challenging to plan for the future when uncertainty reigns supreme.
What I do have is hope. And belief. That as always, we can reflect on the many positives the last 12 months have brought us rather than the negatives. I wish for happiness and prosperity for my family and friends during 2018 so I’m going to focus on that.
We have built such a supportive and loyal community here at Rock My Ltd over the years and even though I like to think we provide you with a decent dose of real life – with all of it’s associated imperfections, what we have always ultimately aimed for, is a small corner of the internet that offers you advice, inspiration, escapism and joy.
Over the last few months, we have been thinking of new and creative ways we can evolve our platforms to give you….more. Much more. I don’t necessarily mean a few developmental updates, additional content or even a design-led facelift. We’re aiming for something altogether more innovative and interactive.
Our ideas certainly require some refinement, believe me it’s very easy to get carried away. But if you put everything off until “tomorrow” or “next month” then you risk not doing anything at all, or at least potentially falling behind in your chosen field. I decided to launch the first UK focussed wedding blog in the middle of a recession, looking back it was a crazy decision to make at the time, regardless of the obvious gap in the market, but it certainly paid off.
I want everything. And I want it delivered. And I want it for our community too.
Here’s to looking forwards not backwards, following our dreams, embracing our desires and believing in our abilities.
Have a wonderful Christmas and we very much look forward to seeing you over the festive period and of course, in a brand new shiny year.
x
Merry Christmas Charlotte and the entire Rock My team. You’re right, it’s a true community here. Looking forward to seeing what exiting developments you have in mind. All the best for 2018!
Thanks Philippa xx
I’m very much looking forward to even more house tours. Could we see more new builds or 60s/70s houses? As much as I would love an Edwardian terrace they don’t come with the garage/workshop that the husband insists that we need! #channelkirstieallsop #compromise
We’ll see what we can do Claire! I have a home in mind actually – will see if they’re up for being featured. x
Yes two up new builds too please!!
Have a wonderful Christmas, to you and your family and all the team, I love being part of this community and you are a personal inspiration for me and how you strive for more, can’t wait for the new year and all the exciting developments. Happy Christmas to everyone on the Rock My team! I’ve really enjoyed the blog this year, with lots of great, very human, very real posts has made it stand out from the crowd. Keep up with these – too many blogs are sugar coated and miss the real world touch. Of course, the lovely aspirational posts are nice too 🙂
2017 has been a hell of a year for me personally (new job with lots of international travel, starting an Masters (husband: “are you sure you’ll be able to do it all?”, me: “not sure but I’m going to give it a go!” – am doing OK so far!), and I’m looking forward to whatever 2018 brings. Am intrigued to see how this blog develops in 2018!
Wow Caroline! What a year! here’s to an equally as exciting 2018 x

Happy Christmas gang. Thanks for another lovely year. Keep being your brilliant selves x
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for everyone on the RMLtd. Team. I don’t manage to check the posts every day after going back to work after maternity leave last January, but I always enjoy catching up when I do get the time! I love and admire you especially, Charlotte for your optimism and hands on attitude. Personally I relate to you and am looking forward to your family based posts since I am also expecting No. 2 in March and also had a C-Section with No. 1. And it doesn’t help that I work in gyn&obs ^^
Well anyway I wish all of you and your loved ones health, the rest is up to us all!
