Hope you all had a wonderful Easter bank holiday weekend, we’re dirty enabling en masse today as it turns out the team are all very fond of a little Eau De Nil. Although sometimes we can’t quite distinguish between this and a minty green – so we’ve incorporated a mixture of the two.
For beautiful wedding guest and bridesmaids dresses head on over to Rock My Wedding (and if like me, you are neither a bridesmaid or going to any weddings this year then I’m sure we’ll need a new frock for a summer party or two). And for fresh-hued children’s fashion, accessories and interiors then Rock My Family should be your next blog stop.
It started with choosing the linen cover for Your Day Your Way. I really loved the shade of green/blue. And since then I’ve seen a plethora of homewares and wardrobe essentials that I’ve either bought or are hanging around in my virtual basket waiting for me to hit “buy”. I promise you I’m not narcissistic with regards matching my interiors and closet to my own book…although that would be amusing, I’ve actually always been a lover of a minty piece of furniture. I incorporated the shade within Mabel’s nursery and the West Elm Mid-century desk in Oregano that you can see in the header image (a belated gift from my husband) is literally one of my most treasured possessions. Not least because it has THE most immense drawer that is the perfect depth for storing my vast collection of cosmetics.
Possibly the greatest selection of green has to be at Cox and Cox where I’ve treated myself to a hand blown vase. Admittedly I do have approximately 458 vases but this one is extra beautiful. I’m seriously considering this swivel stool for my dressing table in the Master Bedroom and wondering where I can put this wooden shelf because although I don’t need it I really want it.
In the header image you will also just about see the world’s coolest teapot – the Ocha by Oliver Bonas. It’s to go on my open shelving in the kitchen along with these Amara Heart Bowls – not only gorgeous but £2 goes to the Eve Appeal with every purchase.
Wardrobe wise I need to replace my much loved H&M mint cardigan that is looking ever so tired and worn, this New Look one is almost exactly the same and is a bargain at £9.99. I’m also lusting after these Adidas originals suede superstar trainers which will not only spruce up my jeans-and-a-Tshirt weekend staple outfit for Spring, but are 100% running-after-a-toddler friendly. I wasn’t going to buy any more clothes until Lottie went and ruined it by sending me a link to this foiled sweater from Zara. I mean seriously, for £17.99 everybody should buy one.
Last but not least and admittedly cheating a bit, as well as being completely frivolous I might add, is this bohemian lingerie set . Labelled as “Aqua” it looks distinctly Eau De Nil-esque to me. And I really rate Topshop for underwear if you don’t necessarily require a lot of support on your bust. The quality is high for the price point and the fabrics and details are undeniably pretty.
For nails Essie laquer in “Mint Candy Apple” can’t be beaten, I buy a new bottle every year. It looks stunning with a (fake) tan.
Do you love a hint of mint? Any Eau De Nil purchases you have made recently that you would like to share? As always your excellent shopping recommendations and interior styling advice is most welcome in the comments section below.
Aah yes, the RMW book matches our Eau De Nil walls perfectly. We have it in our living room along with the ‘Lilac’ wallpaper (also in Eau De Nil) from Laura Ashley. It’s broken up with white on the other walls and makes the space gorgeously fresh.
Loving yours picks. It’s taking a lot of willpower not to buy ALL the things Xx
That’s it Karen – so fresh. I love it for Spring x
So funny, I was trying to describe the wall colour I wanted in our bedroom to my hubby yesterday (‘like mint green but a bit softer’) and voila, now I know what it’s called! I adore this colour. It reminds me of the sea and is really calming. And I clearly need that teapot in my life.
Yes Abi you are right, calming swell as fresh! And you need the teapot. I will probably only ever use mine for display purposes but if it brings you joy……. 🙂 x
Great post Charlotte for first morning back at work, shopping always helps! I haven’t really considered mint before but will now be buying that beautiful topshop underwear and Essie nail varnish – so lovely!
By the way would you mind sharing where that lovely tan bag is from in the picture? Thank you 🙂
Hi Nicola! – Hilariously Essie on instagram posted a picture of their mint candy apple yesterday saying it was THE shade for April. I didn’t realise we were so on trend ha!
The bag is actually a kind of peachy tan – it’s See By Chloe and I bought it for under £200 at The Outnet. I can’t see they have any left but they do have some lovely bags around the same price point https://www.theoutnet.com/en-GB/Shop/Designers/See_by_Chloe/Bags?pn=1
xx
Flying tiger have a lot of little plant pots and spruce up your home things in the shade du jour…all so affordable too…I cant seem ot find a link to anything but look at the little hanging pots below the scarecrow 🙂

Hi Emma! I was in the Leamington branch just yesterday – I bought three of the vases and used them to style the header image I took for Rock My Family:

Think they were about £2 each – bargain x
So pretty! Love flying tiger!
I’ve just bought a huge floor anglepoise lamp in this shade (also a total bargain) and even though putting the said lamp together almost lost my husband his finger, it’s just what I was looking for. This was one of the colours we incorporated into our wedding and I also happened to find one dining chair in a similar shade. Granted one dining chair is pretty useless but it’s fine if you’re going for the ‘throw it together with other styles vibe’ which I often opt for 😉 Xx
Hannah! I really want one dining room chair in this colour – that’s the dream! Love a mis-match 🙂
The heart bowls have got my name all over them! Off to buy right now!
That are amazing – and such a good cause too x
I have just had my bathroom painted Eau De Nil with white tiles on the wall and big grey slate tiles on the floor. It looks so fresh and clean! Feels like I am in a hotel every time I go in.
Hannah this sounds beautiful – do send us some pictures so we can have a butchers. I am ALL for a boutique hotel-esque bathroom. I loved Lolly’s renovations – so fresh and clutter free x
I bought that Essie polish about a week ago – having seen it on their Instagram account too. I’m very excited about it!
Love these colours. Just went to buy the Zara sweater but had to spend £50 to get free delivery, thought I’d just chuck a few wee extras in the basket, somehow ended up over £150, oops! 🙄😊😂Free returns too so might as well. Thanks for the enabling! 👌🏼
We have just painted our playroom in B&Q Colours Eau De Nil (paired with Valspar’s Anything Goes). We’ve put it with a very pale cream carpet – maybe a mistake in a playroom but hey-ho, it looks fab for now!
I have found lots of matching cushions, throws and trinkets at H&M Home online, all super reasonably priced! I keep getting complimented on a vase I bought from H&M, which was under £10, so definitely worth a look….
After reading this post I now feel a whole better about our plan for decorating the kitchen/diner. We are going for grey and yellow but we then fell in love with a gorgeous antique dresser that is kind of a duck egg blue/minty green shade and I thought it would clash horribly with our colour scheme but the grey works well with the dresser and we will go for pops of yellow throughout the room. Hope it works, eek!
[…] own. Just recently team Rock My have all gone a bit gooey eyed for mint, incorporating it into our homes, wearing it and even bringing our littles in on the action. We’re blaming it entirely on the […]
