I literally can’t remember the last time I invested in a decent Summer jacket…… Up to now I think I’ve mostly survived in my Winter woolies and although I’ve been toasty warm I’d really like to sharpen my look and find the perfect cover up and embrace Summer. Come on sun.
Bomber Jackets
The first thing I’ve noticed a plethora of in the shops is bomber jackets. They come in sateen, sheer, jersey and I’ve even spotted suede. All are utterly fabulous and I’ve been coveting them for a while, but I am unsure if I’d reached an age where this was now deemed unsuitable attire for a mum of my age…. I came to the conclusion you’re as young as you feel and teamed with the right outfits I’m sure I can rock this look too. At least that’s what the lovely Lottie assured me when she shared her Summer Style post on Rock My Family.
I opted for this New Look Black Sateen Bomber Jacket as I figured it could easily be dressed up or down and although I adore the other shades (especially the khaki & burgandy) I thought I wouldn’t stand out too much whilst supporting the latest trend.
This contrast trim bomber jacket from Mango was a close second, even more appealing now it’s 50% off in the sale, and I just love the print and dip hem of this grey zip shirt jacket from River Island.
I am also really taken with this floral bomber from Marks and Spencer and if I was feeling a little braver I would definitely be adding this to my basket.
DROP THE BOMB

Denim Jackets
I actually found my dream denim jacket about TWO years ago in Mango, but for whatever reason I didn’t buy it at the time. And the next time I popped online to put it in my basket it had sold out. Since then I have refused to even look for another denim jacket as I feared they would not measure up. The saying “Buy it now, or regret it later” kept haunting me, so when I saw this Pimkie Denim Jacket from ASOS I wasn’t going to take any chances and popped it straight in my basket. I love the frayed collarless neckline and the white denim goes with SO many of my outfits. Plus white is the epitome of Summer, so what’s not to love?
Although I’m more than happy with my white denim jacket, I’d still like to add a blue one to my wardrobe too, and I have seriously been considering the bleached stone MOTO Western Jacket from Topshop. I absolutely adore the raw hem, giving it a gorgeous cropped fit, but if you’d prefer a longer length then this Warehouse Dark Wash Denim Jacket is also fabulous. It has a lovely fitted waist and the deep inky blue colour is sublime. I also adore this White Stuff Everclear Denim Jacket, in mid blue. With all these gorgeous dyes to choose from I think it’s safe to say I am now over my denim jacket aversion.
DENIM FOR DAYS

Blazers
I have two blazers already from Warehouse that I absolutely adore. One being this dark grey herringbone jacket that you lovely lot can now pick up in the sale. The fit and quality of them are second to none, they are undoubtable my go to pieces to transform my look from scruffy to cool. There is no doubt in my mind that I will also be adding the black crepe jacket to my wardrobe too. I love the ruched sleeves and the lightweight fabric is perfect for Summer.
I spotted a similar style on ASOS in nude that would be a great addition to any wardrobe. And if your prefer your jackets cropped you should definitely consider this Hush Ava Jacket. Similar to a bomber jacket, in a gorgeous mono woven print design that is so versatile and will take you from day to evening effortlessly. So what gorgeous covers ups have you all been wearing?

It usually takes me quite a while to get on board with a new trend and like you, I worry I might be getting a bit too old to be jumping on every fashion bandwagon these days but I do love that beautiful M&S bomber! I think I might be dipping my toe into that trend….
That M&S bomber jacket is whispering “buy it now or regret it later” to me Kirsty so I think I might join you. It’s SO pretty isn’t it xxx
