Right now I’m all about simple pleasures: warming breakfasts, cinema dates and high street beauty buys…
Eating porridge topped with cinnamon dusted baked apples for breakfast (I make a big batch at the start of the week and stir a handful into my porridge so the apples warm up as the porridge cooks – so yum and healthy too, I’m sure!).
Treating myself to fashion and beauty collabs that are making my everyday products that much prettier, like the Holly Fulton + Simple line at Superdrug and the Sophia Webster + Toni & Guy range at Boots (I was slow off the mark with this one and it’s sold out in Westfield and it looks like only the shampoo and hairspray are left online but I snapped up a shampoo and conditioner at an Oxford Street branch earlier in the week.
Going to the cinema again, after not going in forever. Recently I’ve seen and enjoyed Everest, He Named Me Malala (at a press screening, I urge you to go see it the second it’s out) Southpaw, Straight Outta Compton and The Martian. I’m looking forward to seeing Macbeth, Sicario, Steve Jobs, Suffragette and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2.
Running on a Saturday morning. Autumn is definitely my favourite time of the year to run, and I’m happy to report that I’ve made it to parkrun three Saturdays out of the past four – I love that there’s a slight chill at 9am when the race starts and that by 9.30am I’ve got 5k under my belt. Even better is going for coffee and brekkie with my little sister afterwards.
Planning the capsule wardrobe that I’m going to start building once I’ve Kondo’d all my clothes. As ever I’m getting ahead of myself and I’ve been pinning like crazy and ripping pages from magazines for inspiration as well as doing a spot of online, erm, research. I’m dreaming of including something from Mango’s cashmere collection like this jumper.
What are you loving right now?
I am Kondo’ing all mine and my husbands clothes this afternoon. A mountain of stuff was piled onto my bed and nearly through sorting it all – just the painful task of getting the stuff I want to keep back in the cupboard. Very hard to not get distracted now…
Stay strong Diane! I plan to set aside some time this week to go the full Kondo on my clothes. To be fair I have done a lot of editing over the past couple of years so I don’t think it will take too long. Famous last words…
Diane, the first time I Kondo’d my wardrobe I made the mistake of getting distracted and let some not-so-joy-inducing items stay in my closet. 6 months later, I haven’t worn any of them. Just think how awesome it would be to open your wardrobe and find only amazing clothes you can’t wait to wear!
Right now I’m loving Snuggling up in bed with my husband, two month old son and cat whilst it’s dark and cold outside (especially dark and cold when said son wakes up early). My husband and I pretty just stare at our son in complete awe, the cat cuddles up on our feet, and my son smiles and coos at us. It’s the simplest and happiest part of my day.
I’m also with you on the autumn love. I go walking every day even in the rain with my son. I love the colours, the weather turning chillier, the smell of bonfires… All of it!
Sounds perfect Anna, love an Autumnal walk and even the chill in the air!
We’ve got the flipside of the seasons down here in Oz, so I’m enjoying long morning beach walks and pizza on the beach for dinner with my son, a candle called sunset that I light when I’m designing… and eating way too many slices of watermelon.
Oh to be in Australia Naomi, eating watermelon, pizza and hanging out on the beach – in fact it really is time I planned a return visit!
