Last week I considered putting my electric blanket on. Seriously. A chill in the air really made me think about getting the flannelette pyjamas and the cashmere socks out. Hot baths, freshly washed pjs and a snuggly throw are just a couple of things I love about the weather turning cooler.
Last year I made a list of the things I was looking forward to about Autumn so it’s only right 2015 gets the same treatment. This year I’m looking forward to:
- Making some rather big interior design plans for our home.
- Carrying on where I left off last winter embracing my Esse oven. Soups, stews and hearty dinners will come from my stove. Not the congealed mess I used to provide from said cooker.
- Autumn walks with my parents’ puppy.
- A couple of trips away including our anniversary break and a weekend in Brighton.
- Candles. Loads of them all around. Everywhere! I love a bit of cosy decor as the nights draw in.
What are you looking forward to this year?
If you haven’t filled in The BIG Rock My Style Survey yet we’d really appreciate it if you would – it only takes a couple of minutes and you could win lots of lovely beauty booty! x
I’m looking forward to going outside again! Summer in Dubai is awful, 45+ some days so with the end of September comes the beautiful, cooler weather and we can all look forward to being outside again for 8 months or so.
I am however, slightly envious of all the winter fashion. I miss boots and coats and even tights. We’re popping back to the UK early December so that week I plan to wear ALL the winter clothes!
Wow, summer in Dubai sounds intense Krysia and, as much as I love sunny days, I would miss being able to wear sweaters, coats and boots (all three are major shopping weaknesses of mine!)
Oh Krysia! I feel your pain. I’m in Perth Australia, so when we’re heading into summer, I’m about the only person in the country who pines over the Northern Hemisphere weather and all the beautiful Autumn fashion that comes with it.
I’m also feeling you on the 45+ days. That’s not summer. That’s torture. Even with A/C.
I love this time of year Naomi when it’s time to wear your new knits for the first time. The novelty soon wears off though 😉 Have a fab summer down under x
Ha ha Krysia, you’ll be bundled up when you visit the UK.
The end of September in Dubai sounds heavenly. Enjoy x
I’m looking forward to the leaves crunching beneath my feet, wearing boots with tights, strictly come dancing, cosy nights in with the fire on, making autumnal flower displays and foods with squash or pumpkin in them! That’s when I know autumn is here, my favourite season – with the weather changing a bit earlier this year I already have that back to school feeling, love it! x
O and cosy knits – I have a million they are the best!
Oh Steph your list has made me feel all warm and snuggly inside. Crunchy leaves are the best! x
Autumn is my favourite time of year by a long shot! I’m looking forward to some Autumn fashion purchases, my third wedding anniversary, Hector’s first birthday and crunchy walks in the woods with the boys. I’ve got my eye on an awesome pair of boots so any excuse to buy them for the new season is definitely up my street!
I adore Autumn too! You must buy the boots immediately x
So I bought the boots today Lauren – you’re such a bad influence!!
Brilliant! x
Love long walks followed by cosy evening.! I’ve been getting in the mood for autumn in my blog this week, which Rock My Style provided the initial inspiration for-thank you!

Loving those PJs Kaleigh! So looking forward to long walks, perhaps followed by a nice glass of red x
A glass of red would definitely round things off nicely! x
Autumn is my favourite time of year. I love the chill in the air and the smell of bonfires. Our wedding anniversary is tomorrow so that for me always signals the start of this season. After that I’ll be looking forward to bonfire night. Getting all bundled up, going out to watch the fireworks then coming home to jacket potatoes and Chilli (and Parkin). We’re moving house in October so I can’t wait to start nesting before winter arrives.
Happy Anniversary Alex. Hope you do something lovely to celebrate x
Thanks Lauren. We’re actually going to the Ritz for afternoon tea. So it should be a lovely day out. X
Oooh fab. Have a wonderful time x
