It’s been an altogether disconcerting 2017 for everyone.

I promise not to bore you senseless with endless new years resolutions or endeavour to interrupt your mince pies and mulled wine with my unrelenting optimism. At times I’ve felt as overwhelmed with the current political climate as the next person, it truly is challenging to plan for the future when uncertainty reigns supreme.

What I do have is hope. And belief. That as always, we can reflect on the many positives the last 12 months have brought us rather than the negatives. I wish for happiness and prosperity for my family and friends during 2018 so I’m going to focus on that.

We have built such a supportive and loyal community here at Rock My Ltd over the years and even though I like to think we provide you with a decent dose of real life – with all of it’s associated imperfections, what we have always ultimately aimed for, is a small corner of the internet that offers you advice, inspiration, escapism and joy.

Over the last few months, we have been thinking of new and creative ways we can evolve our platforms to give you….more. Much more. I don’t necessarily mean a few developmental updates, additional content or even a design-led facelift. We’re aiming for something altogether more innovative and interactive.

Our ideas certainly require some refinement, believe me it’s very easy to get carried away. But if you put everything off until “tomorrow” or “next month” then you risk not doing anything at all, or at least potentially falling behind in your chosen field. I decided to launch the first UK focussed wedding blog in the middle of a recession, looking back it was a crazy decision to make at the time, regardless of the obvious gap in the market, but it certainly paid off.

I want everything. And I want it delivered. And I want it for our community too.

Here’s to looking forwards not backwards, following our dreams, embracing our desires and believing in our abilities.

Have a wonderful Christmas and we very much look forward to seeing you over the festive period and of course, in a brand new shiny year.
