It’s officially Autumn, it’s almost winter and that means we need new boots. Well, according to the team it does – it was quite the topic of conversation at our last meeting as Lottie and Lolly were both sporting shiny recently purchased pairs.

I buy new ankle boots each year, I tend to wear them to death so they are always reasonably battered by the time the following Spring appears. This year I’ve already invested in a pair of cute suede numbers, but I’m thinking I need to consider a more practical pair of waterproof boots (and possibly flat) option for when it’s wet and windy and I need to chase after a small ninja.

Here are our picks of the best boots for Autumn/Winter – do let us know what you’ve bought in the comments box below because we will probably be tempted to copy.

H by Hudson – £100

The Kiver in Beige Suede was the pair I mentioned above – I’ve had my eye on them for a few months so decided to take the plunge. The heel is stacked so comfortable to walk in and the rounded toe doesn’t squish. They are also available in black. I wear them under flared jeans but also with cropped skinnies too.

Zara – £69.99

I don’t own anything animal print. I just can’t…..get on with it. Everything I’ve tried just always feels a bit “too much” if that makes sense. However, recently I’ve been more and more swayed by the cool street styles I’m seeing on Pinterest where the outfit is very plain bar a pair of statement leopard booties. This version from Zara are very tempting indeed.

Asos – £60

I own the Stuart Weitzman Highland and I love them TO DEATH. But they are ridiculously spendy. And so I’ve been doing my research and this Key to my Heart design from ASOS comes very close. Plus they are a whole £540 cheaper. So if you do decide you want to flirt with a thigh style, these won’t bash your plastic.

Aldo – £120

If you fancy something over-the-knee but with a much lower heel then the Dyna in Black Leather from Aldo are AMAZE. A friend of mine has them and I’m jealous. The exposed zip detail looks very cool indeed.

Clarks – £60

Lottie’s Autumnal purchase were the Taylor Shine in Mushroom from Clarks. She says they are the most comfortable boots she’s ever owned – here she is modelling them for you in my back garden. You’re welcome.

H & M – £29.99

And if you like Lottie’s style but require more of a bargain these Jodhpur Boots from H&M should do the trick. I have just ordered these in black but they come in brown too (I figured these could be my more practical pair and I actually genuinely like them.)

Jigsaw – £150

Are you thinking what I’m thinking? Hmm, Lolly’s Cara style from Jigsaw appear to be very similar to my Hudson Kiver pair above don’t they? They are actually much narrower on the ankle so it’s really a case of what you prefer. The Cara does come in some very lovely shades too – as well as the navy leather I also love the cranberry suede.

Zara – £39.99

I have always dismissed a Riding Boot style. Perhaps it’s because I am short, with even shorter legs and thus they make me appear stumpy? They always seem to cut at a funny point on my thigh. Plus I always feel they look kind of I don’t know…wide? Anyway, these Riding Boots from Zara are nice and simple, I wish I could carry them off as well as I’m sure some of you folks can.
