Who doesn’t love a bargain? Now it’s curtain closing season here’s a little round up of ten home decor treats to add to your pad. If you’re feeling flush you could even buy them all.
You Had Me At Hello Mug | Asos | £6
Mrs O’Shea has this fancy enamel mug from Asos and I’m keen to get my hands on one too. Great for a cup of steaming hot chocolate or for a cuppa when you’re out tending to all those fallen leaves in the garden.
New Look | Brand New Home Range
So there’s no link to buy this range yet but it’s coming soon. New Look are launching a collection of homeware at the end of September and it promises to be very purse pleasing indeed. Lots of copper to feast your eyes on! Check out Hannah Gale’s post for an idea of what to expect.
Copper Frame | Matalan | £6
Most of Team RMS have some form of metal rimmed frame in their home and now Matalan and joined in on the action. Their copper photo frame is perfect for your 6×4 snaps. I’m also liking their Kate Spadesque stationery range too.
Alphabet Candle | Marks and Spencer | £6
This scented candle would make a fabulous little gift to take round as a hostess gift if any of your friends are hosting a shindig. I reckon it looks far more expensive than it actually is too. Bonus.
Higher Ground Knob | Anthroplogie | £10
Woodland styling still appears to be big news this year. Choose from a whimsical bird, rabbit or lion knob to grace your chest of drawers. A special mention for this elegant glass sugar pot and fabled fauna knob, but as they a few quid over the £10 limit they don’t make it to the main post.
Long Box Of Matches | Selfridges | £6.95
I adore candles, not in a pyromania kind of way, but one candle is not enough for me. When I light multiple ones I always prefer to use a long match to save me striking lots of times and burning my fingers. These Archivist’s vintage-inspired box of matches have a gorgeous print on the box so are a great home decor piece in their own right.
Bear Cushion | George at Asda | £7
If I’m in Asda I can never resist a peek at their homeware section as there’s always some fab items to pop in your trolley. I really like the shape of this Bear cushion as well as the gold piping. They’re also embracing the whole letter thing too with their initial cushions (a little hint of Jonathan Adler there) and throws which would make a cute engagement or wedding gift. The throws are £12 so please don’t shout at me.
Feather Decoration | John Lewis | £3
Ever so slightly random but I’m really drawn to these white ceramic feather ornaments. I had my eye on something similar last year for my Christmas tree and when I went to buy the were out of stock. I think they’d look sweet hanging from a door handle or over the edge of a picture for a dash of rustic glam.
Copper Basket | Tiger | £5
You can’t buy online but Tiger stores are popping up all over the country. New in is this copper basket which is a stylish little storage option.
Glass Tea Light Holder | H&M | £2.99
It’s impossible not to mention budget homeware without talking about H&M. I love everything in there! These tea light holders would be spectacular scattered across your dining table or along a shelf.
I nipped in to my local Morrisons the other day which sits next to Dunnes. Although I didn’t get a chance to pop in store they had some very nice geometric pieces and lots of copper accents in the window which may be worth a look.
Any little gems you’ve purchased recently to make your home cosy? I’d love to hear your favourite stores for candles, throws and cushions too.

I love the Anthropologie, it makes my day when their gorgeous catalogue lands on my doorstep. I have their through the woods fox knobs on my dresser. I had been wondering whether to paint the chest of drawers in my bedroom and now I have been tempted back onto their website it may have made my mind up
Yes, definitely paint the chest of drawers Claire. Their range of hardware is beautiful x
Lauren what are you trying to do to me! Loving all these fabulous items and dare I say it some might be excellent stocking fillers…
Going to be investing in a few of those alphabet candles for friends with some pretty matches to boot and the tealight holders from H&M have stolen a piece of my heart. Lastly the feather decorations would make the most excellent finishing touch on some Christmas wrapping. I’ll be popping along to the new ginormous John Lewis store that’s just opened to pick up a few – thanks for the tip!
Lucky you with a ginormous John Lewis! I sense a splurge coming on x
Lauren, this is a bit of an unrelated comment but I hope you don’t mind! My step-mum has recently got into all things interior design and I’d like to buy her a nice book for her upcoming birthday. I know she already has the Kelly Hoppen one and loves it. You have such great taste when it comes to decorating that I wondered if you had any other suggestions or sources of inspiration?
Sarah – just going to jump on the bandwagon here and suggest anything by Sibella Court who is awesome. This was the first book I bought by her but I have all of her titles now http://www.amazon.co.uk/Etcetera-Sibella-Court/dp/174196556X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442931650&sr=8-1&keywords=sibella+court
And then this is another good one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pale-Interesting-Atlanta-Bartlett/dp/1849751129/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1442931707&sr=1-1&keywords=pale+and+interesting
And this too http://www.amazon.co.uk/Imperfect-Home-Mark-Sally-Bailey/dp/1849755507/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1442931734&sr=1-1&keywords=baileys+home+and+garden
Hi Sarah, Loving all Lolly’s suggestions. My favourite interiors books has to be the Domino Guide to Decorating http://www.amazon.co.uk/Domino-Decorating-Room-Room-Creating/dp/1416575464. I also really like Clare Nolan’s Making a House Your Home too x
Thanks ladies, that’s so helpful! You RMS bunch are just the best 🙂 Will check them all out. Now just need to resist buying one for myself too…!
Ooooh i’d forgotten about the New Look homeware range, roll on next week and pay day!!
This post even got me trawling the new items on the Matalan website……they’ve got some great stuff. Time for a shopping trip!
Matalan have oodles of lovely cosy stuff in for autumn. Enjoy! x
Ooooh, we’ve just got a Tiger where I live and its amazeballs (and so cheap!)
Claire they’re opening up a Tiger in Birmingham this week – I’m thinking I need to go and check it out!
They’ve just opened one in Milton Keynes too. They’re popping up everywhere. Really good for novelty stuff too, and candles! x
Loving those alphabet candles – might have to buy a whole heap for pressies.
Sainsburys is also good for homewear although not always budget budget! We bought a fab throw/blanket/rug in navy and orange check for the living room. I am already enjoying snuggling under it 🙂
I noticed they had some lovely copper candles as well that I have my eye on.
It IS too early to get excited about Christmas… I won’t allow it for myself just yet.
I keep pretending it’s too early but the dreaded C word has been popping up in my conversations recently. There are loads of great ideas for small gifts here.
I’ve bought a few bits from sainsbury’s and always think they’re good quality Lynn. I must check out these copper candles!
You can get yourself a teeny weeny bit exciting for Christmas. It is less than 100 days now 😉 x
I’ve got the reupholstry man coming round tomorrow to collect our scraggiest of sofas so I’m MEGA excited about it coming back all new and ‘stonewash grey’ and very much in the market for some alphabet cusions – they’re fab.
H&M is ridiculous at the moment for nice accessories.. I think I have ordered ALL the copper. And gold. I got a lovely copper basket from there to keep my Christmas wrapping paper in.
P.S. It’s totally time for that!! We just had team day at work today and I managed to host a whole session in open discussion time on planning the Christmas decorations. We’ve covered Christmas socials, wreath making workshops, charity christmas card designs and bauble colour scheme. 😀 Yay!
