I love popcorn. On the rare occasion I go to the cinema it’s my favourite treat, Lord knows how much sugar is in that version though – I dread to think. I’m also partial to the sweet and salted mix from M&S, the one from Pret A Manger is pretty good too.
Today I’m sharing a recipe for sweet and spicy popcorn. Dead easy to make and only requires 5 ingredients, plus this officially qualifies as part of your clean eating regime – yay! Of course you can use the basic principles of this recipe for any flavour combination you fancy, Charlotte from Buttercream and Dreams (who very kindly made this batch for our feature today) favours dark chocolate and chilli…how exotic!

{Ingredients}
- ½ cup of popping corn
- Drizzle of coconut oil
- ¼ tsp chilli powder
- ¼ tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp Agave Syrup

{Method}
- Put a drizzle of oil in a large deep pan with a lid. Turn up the heat to medium.
- Add the pocorn kernels and place the lid on your pan. Once the corn starts to pop keep shaking the pan continuously until it stops.
- Remove from the heat and immediately sprinkle over the spices and drizzle over the agave syrup. Shake to coat.
- Eat warm or pop in to little bags and take to work as a delicious and healthier alternative to a custard cream.

I’m more of a salty popcorn kinda girl but will defo give this recipe a whirl – who knows it may even convert me over to the sweet side xx
I made popcorn for the first time this Christmas – how flipping exciting is the corn popping!!!!
I was like a small child squealing with glee!! haha
Thanks to Kirstie Allsopp I made some mince pie popcorn – which was delish!
I also made some popcorn with various chocolate sweeties mixed in & baked in the oven!
Definitely need to try chocolate & chilli and this sweet & spicy recipe
Fab as always guys 🙂 xx
ps. recently tried Propercorn Popcorn – their Fiery Worcester Sauce & Sun-Dried Tomato one is very yummy! (http://www.propercorn.com/)
As a Worcester boy ( I used to live next door to the sauce factory) I am shocked to discover that this Propercorn Popcorn has not been brought to my attention before.
I shall be seeking it out.
I can vouch for this Buttercreams & Dreams recipe on the taste and satisfaction front… As I was trying to take the featured picture my pile of popcorn kept falling and it only seemed right to consume the spillage 🙂
This looks so good! I love popcorn but eating popcorn always makes me feel guilty because it’s so sweet and super unhealthy. Finding new alternatives is always great – finding new very creative alternatives is even greater! x
Ooo sweet and spicy! Don’t think I’ve ever tried SPICY popcorn before but sounds yummy! I usually go for the classic salt + butter, and on occasion a caramel, but Kernels’ different flavours are tempting! Great, easy recipe 🙂
(Also that picture might just be one of the best pictures of popcorn I’ve ever seen…!)
