I often refer to my legs as ‘uncooked baguettes’ – yep you know the pale loaves that you find in vacuum packed bags? I very rarely show my pins to the world, however over the past week it’s been so hot that they have made a shock appearance.
Although the temperature may have dropped there still seems to be plenty of skin on show around the UK right now. This brings me on to today’s beauty post full of my favourite products that I’ve been using to attempt to leave me buffed and polished in this glorious summer.

Soap and Glory Scrub Your Nose in It

My Mum accidentally purchased this facial scrub after mistaking it for the hallowed Heel Genius and it has been hanging around her bathroom cupboard ever since. With all the slathering of mineral suncream, foundation and powder I’ve found my pores have been getting rather clogged so I was very happy when she gave me this tube to try a few weeks ago. I’ve been using this every other day across my t-zone and found my skin is brighter, smoother and clearer.
Thankfully Soap and Glory have recently changed the packaging to a more clinical white bottle so no more confusing feet for face and vice versa.

Boots Coconut Body Oil

I snapped up a jar of Coconut Oil after many, many recommendations from our lovely readers. Is there anything this product can’t do? I’ve been using it on my cuticles and dry patches on my elbows as well as as an eye make up remover but others are using it as a moisturiser, conditioner, heel softener. The list goes on! And it’s dirt cheap too. Word of warning though, in hot weather it obviously melts. As I was showing off my new beauty find to my friend I proceeded to pour it all over her floor. Clever.

Body Tonic Smoothing Scrub

In summer I find I need to step up the exfoliation stakes but don’t like the feeling of sandpaper rubbing across my skin. I’ve found Garnier’s sugar scrub to be great for smoothing my body. The grains are small too so it’s not too rough on delicate skin. I have fairly sensitive skin (though nowhere near as sensitive as Charlotte) and haven’t experienced any irritation with this exfoliator.

Avon Care Cocoa Butter

I have to use a deeply nourishing body lotion all year round and I am in love with this product. It only costs a few quid and leaves skin supple and smooth.

Rimmel Instant Tan Matte

This product has recently had a packaging overhaul too but I’m hoping it’s still the wonder product. I am allergic to every single fake tan going and really struggle to get a faux glow so have to use wash-off products instead. Rimmel’s Tan provides an instant sun kissed look to my uber pale skin. There is apparently a waterproof version too so no more streaks if you’re caught in the rain. I’ve also recently tried Sally Hansen’s Airbrush Leg Make-up too and was really impressed by the natural and non-patchy application. For those of you who aren’t allergic to fake tans, Charlotte is sharing her favourite later this week.
By the way, the legs are now back in trousers. They have made their annual appearance so are unlikely to be unveiled again.
