Copper has been popular in the high-end interiors world for quite a while but now it’s hit the high street in a big way.
I love it because it’s a hugely versatile metal. It can look ultra sophisticated in a highly polished and shiny state, but also lends itself well to the recent industrial trend too.
I’ve picked some of my favourite copper pieces from around the internet. As a bonus some of them also tick the box for embracing another emerging trend, geometric patterns.
Desk accessories, From £22, Anthropologie
Oh my word, what a stylish set of accessories for your desk. The copper magazine file is my absolute favourite but I wouldn’t say no to the letter box either!
Copper Box, From £7.50, Rockett St George
These gorgeous copper boxes are great for storing jewels and trinkets, but they are also a perfect way to store treasured keepsakes such as photos and letters.
Round Captain’s Style Mirror, £68, Not On The High Street
I’ve recently picked up a burnished bronze and leather hanging mirror for my downstairs loo. For a more modern, streamlined version try this copper round mirror. It’s very sophisticated!
Copper Candlesticks, From £5.99, H&M
You can always count on H&M to offer high-trend, low-budget pieces. These candlesticks are just one of the fashionable items in their new decoration section and are available in gold and silver too.
Glass Terrarium, £28, Oliver Bonas
I’ve been looking for a terrarium for a while but every one I found was flipping expensive. That is until now. This handcrafted, antique look, copper and glass terrarium from Oliver Bonas fits the bill perfectly. I think I would load it with succulents or air plants but it could also be used as a lantern.

Love the industrial look and copper tends to feature. Would love copper pipework taps in my next house… like this

I didnt know I needed a Terrarium and wouldnt know what one was but clearly I do. What are air plants?!
I’ve been doing up the utility this weekend and searching for a nice industrial style shelf/ large soap dish with no luck, & I’d quite like a copper one.
Those taps are amazing Victoria. I really want to do my downstairs loo in that kind of style but could only find a chrome towel rail and am a bit worried that I can’t combine the two looks together. Let me know if you find a copper shelf etc as I would love to copy 😉
Air plants are amazing. You can get them in Ikea. They don’t need water (well a mist every so often), just air!
This suggests they’d be very difficult to kill?!
Very difficult I’ve heard. Ideal for me as I cannot seem to keep house plants alive.
You have now made me mentally spend far too much money whilst having my lunch break! I’m loving copper at the moment and those candlesticks are gorgeous. I was attempting to purchase a lovely copper light from habitat for my bedroom redecoration but it proved too popular and was out of stock. Unfortunately I’d left it too late and had the electrician coming the next day so had to make a snap decision and went for the yellow version instead. Oh well. Also I tracked down one of those lovely hanging mirrors, albeit not as lovely as this one, in Homebase for the bargain price of £19.99. Perfect for my en-suite. Now I must put the credit card away and get back to work! x
Sorry Charlotte! Glad you got a mirror – £19.99 is a bargain 🙂
YES! I love copper. I’m currently looking for a copper bedside lamp (black a copper shade – does anyone know the thing im on about) to go in my dark grey bedroom. Possibly a copper pendant lamp too! How many copper accents is too many?
The more the merrier I say Clare x
