Ok, ok so it might not feel like we’re anywhere close to reaching out for Spring clothing just yet (honestly how cold has it gotten these last few days!!!) but you know that longer days are around the corner and we’ll be seeing sunny daffodils swaying in the breeze before too long.

Ok so that might be an excuse; if you’re anything like me then you’ll experience a case of itchy fingers as payday looms and your imaginary shopping cart starts to fill up. I adore the beginning of any new season with all the promise that it brings and although it’s early I couldn’t pass up on the opportunity to share my favourite Spring 2016 fashion picks with you.

I must also apologise in advance for the overly black, grey and blue colour theme of this post. It wasn’t intentional and I know that many of you requested that we bring a bit more colour into our fashion posts. Pinky promise that we’ll share something super bright next time!

Zara

Oh Zara! You will be the ruin of me! Why oh why do you continue to supply us with all sorts of amazing fashion eye candy like this pastel pink trench coat/rain mac combo. I failed to get on board the pink coat train last year having not long had Hector, and I missed out on the duster coat trend too so this beauty ticks all the boxes. So much so that I’ve actually sent out an email to my mum and sisters suggesting they might like to buy this for my approaching birthday. I’m not even joking.

Lately I’ve been feeling a bit frivolous and so when I spotted this fringed bucket-style backpack there was a big piece of my heart that went ‘oh you really should’. I mean come on! There is golden-toned hardware, oodles of fringing and an easy peasy drawstring closure too. Plus the shoulder straps are detachable as well and yours for a small sum of £35.99. I’d feel like a rockstar Dolly Parton and that can only be a good thing!

Lastly it’s become a kind of unintentional ritual of mine to invest in a breton top every season. I think it’s because they’re super versatile and you can wear and layer them with pretty much everything. I like Zara’s take on the style with a white vertical stripe down at each side.

Topshop

I’ll hold my hands up and say that I sometimes feel a little bit too old for Topshop. Eeek! Yep there I’ve said it. I’m more than a little envious of my younger sister who always looks awesome in so many of their products but I just don’t feel that I can get away with the same looks myself. However there are a couple of gorgeous items I spotted from their new collection that I’d be inclined to bash the credit card for…namely these monochrome flats for when I don’t need to chase after Hector and this heart-print shirt that totally channels a 70s vibe. In fact I may have already purchased the heart shirt…oops! I figure that it will look just as good paired with some black shorts in the evening as it would in the day with some jeans.

H&M

I’m a big fan of H&M knitwear and this season hasn’t let me down particularly on the chunky knit front. This mixed pattern-knitted polo neck in blue would look fabulous with a pair of jeans or with a leather mini skirt and priced at a bargainous £29.99 you can afford to indulge in this cream cable knit jumper too. The cream jumper is a slightly shorter style and yours for £14.99. If you’re quick and purchase before Saturday then there’s an extra 10% off your purchase when you buy online. I know, I told you that you needed both 😉

ASOS

Staying on the knitwear front, I’m really heavily crushing on this collarless navy boyfriend style cardigan which would be the perfect quick ‘I’m cold’ fix for in and out of the house. I like the fact it’s both collarless and that it has dropped shoulders for that extra slouchy fit that won’t interfere with your layers underneath. I’ll be accessorising with this drop chain pendant necklace made from silver but gold-plated on top. After all every girl needs a bit of sparkle don’t they.

Jigsaw

If you saw our boots post then you’ll already know that I’ve splashed out on these block heeled ankle boots for Winter. They’ve served me well and are still going strong and I’m very tempted to purchase a pair in blue suede for when it gets a bit warmer and dryer.

Rad

Team member Becky does good t-shirting! That’s a fact. She always knows where to find the best fits and the best quotes. It was she that introduced me to Rad just before Christmas and I’ve been a convert ever since. They currently have a sale on their Autumn/Winter stock but I’m loving this particular tee from their new collection oh and this one too.

The Kooples

I haven’t purchased a new dress for ages (we’re talking nearly two years!) – a situation that needs to be rectified and I can very much see that this grey denim frock from The Kooples doing the trick. Ok so it isn’t cheap but it is denim so will withstand the attentions from tiny hands and is the type of dress that can be layered up or down depending on the weather in question therefore justified from a cost per wear perspective. I’d pair it with a cosy knit, a pair of grey tights and my trusty Jigsaw boots that I mentioned above.

I do really like this silk floral number too but at an ouchy £250 I think it’ll be staying on my wishlist for a while longer.

Superga at The White Company

I’m not a trainer/plimsoll/pumps kind of girl but with a 15 month old who has recently discovered running, it’s really not practical for me to keep chasing after him in a pair of super pointy flats. Despite searching for a good four months, it was only whilst writing this post that I came across these metallic beauties by Superga at The White Company and I was sold! With a 20% off voucher at the ready and payday just around the corner I’ll be popping these in my basket for brighter Spring days ahead.

COS

This silk panelled shirt from COS actually caught my eye last month whilst I was perusing the sales. It was one of the first items to appear from the brand in their Spring 2016 collection and I was instantly smitten. The longer length and straight fit is perfect for layering under jumpers in cooler days but equally just as beautiful styled on its own for when the temperature gauge rises. I’m particularly smitten with its neat narrow collar too.

So there we have it – my round-up of the best buys in the shops at the moment. I can’t wait to see what else appears in the next few weeks…Did I mention it was my birthday next month? 😉
