Last week the RMS ladies and Adam congregated for our team meeting. Other than Adam, we were all sporting our favourite summer luxe lip shades and we thought you’d like to take a peek…

Lolly | Dior Sillage

I’m having a moment with Christian Dior lipsticks and purchased ‘Sillage‘ for the summer which even prompted Ste to say how nice it looked! Slightly more intense than my ultimate favourite (Charnelle) Sillage is blessed with a more intense rosebud pink for those days when all you need is a slick of lippy to go with your freshly tanned face. The hue is perfect for that day to night transition and the lipstick itself smells like roses which always makes me smile. I find that Dior products are easy to apply and have a decent longevity factor which is essential for me since it’s not uncommon for me to forget to top up after eating/drinking. I’m also tempted by Rose Bonheur from the brand too…

For those days when I’m after a more neutral matte shade I’ll be reaching for my ‘Velvet Teddy’ by MAC which is a little bit more sophisticated and makes me feel like a proper grown up. Whilst not as buttery smooth as the Dior lipsticks I still rate MAC highly and the slightly chalkier composition works well with this particular shade. I’ve heard good things about MAC’s prep and prime lipstick base so I’m in two minds as to whether to bite the bullet and purchase or not…after all anything that increases a lipsticks stay factor is a winner in my book.

Charlotte | MAC Given In

My favourite lipstick of all time is MAC’s Creme Cup, it’s the perfect pinky/beige nude for every day wear. Recently MAC have bought out ‘Given In‘ a limited edition which is similar – but pulls slightly more peach. Obviously I am OBSESSED and have already bought two back-ups.
Now we’re moving towards the warmer months though I’ve discovered two new brighter hued favourites (I know, I actually have a problem, how many lipsticks does one girl need?). For a velvety matte finish I’m loving Surratt’s automatic lip crayon in ‘Gentillesse‘ – described as a delicate rose. The pigment is excellent and the shape of the crayon’s sculpted tip means you can create a defined shape with minimal effort. This is the first product I’ve bought from this new brand and I can’t wait to try more.
I actually copied my friend Anna when I saw her touch up her Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in ‘Intrépide‘ at a photo shoot recently. A gorgeous sheer orange coral with a hint of pink – perfect for hot days when you still want to look polished.

Lisa | Estée Lauder Melon Shimmer

I know that in our recent post about luxe cosmetics Charlotte mentioned that she doesn’t feel ‘done’ without something on her lips. I didn’t agree, I always felt a little bit painted on wearing lippy…until another visit to my very own beauty enabler, my Auntie Maggie. She presented me with a bag of Estee Lauder goodies (everyone should have an Auntie Maggie in their lives). Cue lots of delighted squeals from both Lyra and I.

The one item in this bag of loveliness that I wasn’t sure about was the Estée Lauder Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in Melon Shimmer. Now I love a coral hue and it’s one of the few colours that makes it into my monochrome-and-grey wardrobe, but on my lips? I was NOT convinced. However my auntie knows her make up so I decided to give it a go. And I am sold. Although the colour looks a bit orange and in-your-face, if you just use a dab it’s actually a lovely subtle, shimmery shade. It feels super moisturising and lives up to its name of being long lasting. But in a nice way – it doesn’t make my lips dry out or feel sticky. Plus, it couldn’t be a more summery shade. I now just need a coral nail polish to match! Any suggestions?

Lauren | Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Boheme

Call me shallow but few material things make me happier than a black and white bag adorned with Chanel ribbons. I love the packaging and the application of a Chanel lipstick but sadly haven’t been that enamoured by the longevity and colour payoff. That is until I discovered Rouge Coco Shine in ‘Boheme’. Now the shade you see on my lips is a sample but let me tell you I went straight out and bagged myself a bullet.

I’m not usually a shine kind of girl but the balm-like texture (which changes to a fluid when it hits the lips) leaves lips hydrated and soft. The bold shade lasts several hours despite eating and a whole lot of sipping so I have to say I’m very impressed. The shade is a strawberry red and while it’s bold, the sheer nature of the formulation makes it easy to wear. On the cheaper end of the scale I do love the easy breezy Maybelline Baby Lips in ‘Cherry Me’. It tastes divine too.

What shades are you wearing this summer? Any new lip discoveries you’d like to tell us all about?
