Meaning: Fearlessly, often recklessly daring; bold.

Audacious is the name of the new lipstick collection by Nars Cosmetics. And it might just be the most spectacular collection of lipsticks I have ever seen released. Ever.

Not only is the formulation luxurious and satin-y, moisturising without being sticky and super pigmented, the colour selection is AMAZING. Named after the most iconic Hollywood starlets there are 30 sumptuous shades to take your fancy, from deep reds to pretty pinks to the perfect nudes, with a smattering of my favourite corals thrown in for good measure.

Having covered both hands with a range of lovely stripes whilst perusing my local Space NK I was a very good girl and only purchased “Natalie“, a reddish pinky bright. I was very tempted by “Raquel” though (a pale-ish pink nude) and possibly would have bought Brigitte (a warm rose with peach) had it not have been sold out.

As with all Nars products, the packaging is lush, with a pleasing magnetic click to the tube. This is very important in my books. If I’m going to pay £24 for a lipstick I want it to be impressive enough to wave around in public and gather admiring glances from other make-up junkies.

Longevity wise I’d say it’s a good 3/4 hours depending on how much tea you drink, the amount of chocolate covered wafer biscuits you consume and how many hot people you kiss*

When I write reviews such as this (all OTT gushing praise and about just one individual product) I do wonder if it might come across as a sponsored post? Well it isn’t, although if we do get sent any Nars in the future (Hello Francois? are you there? do send me whatever it is you have you know, just lying around your immaculate mansion!) then I’ll be sure to let you know it was a press sample.

This is a super duper lipstick.

You probably need one.

*Or just the one person for any length of time, it will smear all over both of your faces, sorry.
