Hot on the trail of my Scandi Splurge or Shoestring edit a few weeks back, today I have hunted down a load homewares that wouldn’t look out of place in a modern/classic home such as editor Lauren’s house. Hold tight for a whole lot of dirty enabling.
The Sofa
Did you fall head over heels for the Jsyk coffee table that I mentioned in the aforementioned Scandi post? Well today’s Jysk bargain is this grey sofa. I love made.com’s Ritchie sofa – particularly the version with the rainbow buttons – and the Jysk one isn’t a million miles away.
The Rug
If you’re looking to add some warmth to your hallway then this French Connection rug is a beaut. And Dunelm do one that’s a dead ringer, if a little less pink. My friend Stylish-Susan-from-the-office pointed me in the direction of the Dunelm version and she can vouch for its looks and quality. (Her pug Bruno Mars is also a fan. Particularly of weeing on it. But at that price she can afford to replace it every so often).
The Glasses
These muted metallic champagne flutes from Oliver Bonas are a little bit quirky and different. I’ve got the vase from the same honeycomb range and it’s one of my favourite things in my living room. And Matalan’s flutes are almost as lustworthy.
The Trinkets
Whilst we’re talking Oliver Bonas…have a little looksy at their gold wire letters which are currently half price. Or if you’re after a copper version, they’re a mere £3.50 at Hobbycraft.
The Footstool
How perfectly would one of these West Elm for John Lewis stools fit into the bedroom in the header? And for a more modern version, Maisons du Monde sell a version with on-trend hairpin legs. ALL the hygge.
The Lamp
Every time I walk into The White Company I just want everything in there … I’m currently lusting after a Bowery Table Lamp. Lauren spotted a bargain version of their Bottle Lamp at The Range but if anyone can point me in the direction of a Bowery lookalike at a fraction of the price I will love you forever.
The Circular Mirror
Circular mirrors are all the rage on Instagram at the moment. ‘The Aura’ from Cox and Cox is on my wishlist, this M&S piped one is uber chic, and this H&M version is smaller, but still perfectly proportioned.
The Clock
The bargain of the day has to be this dinky little Dunelm clock at just £6. Or if you’re looking for a timepiece with a bit more weight to it then the Marble Mantel Clock from La Redoute is the epitome of elegance. (Has anyone bought anything from La Redoute interiors? Is the quality any good?)

I’ve bought quite a few things from la redoute and am pleased with the quality. Especially when you consider that they often run sales or hand out discount codes. It’s always worth waiting for that because they come around so frequently. I’ve bought mainly fabric items such as linen bedding and cushion covers but some of the furniture and accessories from the am.pm. range will probably make their way into my house. I remember seeing a home in LivingEtc which had loads of the am.pm. furniture and it looked very stylish.

La redoute is one of my go to online shops for homeware. They frequently have sales and discounts (including one at the moment). We have several items that have really stood the test of time; the am.pm white locker cabinet fitted perfectly in an awkward space in our old house, and whilst it wasn’t as easy to build as other flatpack furniture it was much sturdier than expected (a house move later and it’s still fine!).

I bought a set of nesting tables from La Redoute last year and they are good quality- I’d second the comment about not being the easiest to build but they are solid wood tops and perfect for the space! If I remember rightly the deliver wasn’t something you could choose so they just turned up one day…

Do it! I’ve got hundreds back, including £40 on a car seat. You can use it for almost everything, insurance payments, hotels, take aways as well as usual retailers.
£40 back?! I’ve added it to the to-do list on my phone. I’m pretty sure we covered it on RMF a while back and I have been meaning to sort it out ever since! x

I have the Made.com Ritchie sofa – I used to have it in my home office but it’s now in the playroom/snug. And who knew about Dunelm for rugs?! I am trying to work out where I can actually put that runner just so I can justify buying it (!)

I bought one of these mega bargain table lamps from Wilko. The base is good quality ceramic and looks much more expensive, am really pleased with it. Granted, the shade was pretty poor, but I made a new one to match my room and it looks pretty fab, and a total steal at the price.
