I have been a massive fan of JoJo Maman Bébé ever since Lyra was born. Their products are always brilliant quality, and going into one of their stores is such a treat: our local one has a little kids table at the back stocked with wooden toys which keep Lyra and Jenson entertained while I ooh and aah over all the lovely clothes.

So when JoJo Maman Bébé got in touch with us to ask if we would like to work with them on a post about October half term activities I was over the moon. Here’s a couple of ideas about how to keep the kids entertained while school’s out, come rain or shine.

Half Term Activities {Welly Walks}

My kids will be bouncing off the walls by bedtime if they’ve been inside all day, so we always stick on wellies and try and get a bit of fresh air, even if it’s raining.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate the ducks on Lyra’s wellies (SO. CUTE.), and the fact that Jenson’s wellies have such a cool retro vibe that Rich has asked whether they come in his size.

Half Term Activities {Wildlife Park}

The pics that Adam captured for this post were taken in Cotswold Wildlife Park last week, and Lyra has already asked me a hundred times ‘When can we go back to the zoo? When can we go back to the zoo?’, so we may well be back one day over half term.

We were there on a sunny Saturday and although there were a lot of people there, it’s so spacious and open that it didn’t feel busy. Lyra was fascinated by the rhinos and Jenson was intent on picking up a peacock*.

Half Term Activities {Picnic}

My kids love their food so I can persuade them to do nearly anything if it involves sausage rolls, scotch eggs, grapes and chocolate brownies.

And if it’s just too wet for a picnic, I have two words for you. CARPET PICNIC.

Half Term Activities {Outdoor Games}

Are these, or are these not, the most gorgeous wooden skittles you’ve ever seen? They also look fab on a shelf in Jenson’s nursery when they’re not being used. Other outdoor games that my two love are giant jenga, giant nought and crosses and that throw-a-hoop-over-some-sticks game which Google informs me is called quoits.

And is this, or is this not the cutest cardie you’ve ever seen? I adore the little fox faces on the pockets, and the pointy ears on the hood. Editor Lauren has already given it her seal of approval and asked if it can be passed down to her little boy when it’s too small for Jenson.

Half Term Activities {Pumpkin Picking}

I’ve never done this before, so I’m VERY excited about the fact that this year we’ve booked to go pumpkin picking at a local farm. Apparently there will be straw bales to clamber over, a tunnel of terror, and obvs a load of pumpkins to choose from.

Half Term Activities {Nature Treasure Hunt}

This is one that’s always a hit with Lyra. Write a list of autumnal ‘treasures’ such as acorns, conkers and leaves, wrap up warm (Lyra is so chuffed with her smart new yellow jacket, and every time Jenson sees his dinosaur one he gives a very convincing RAAAR), and head off to your local park or forest, ticking off each treasure you find.

Half Term Activities {Autumnal Crafts}

And what to do with all those treasures found on the nature walk? Well, a leaf picture of course! There’s oodles of inspiration on Pinterest and I’m going to arm the kids with PVA glue and get them to use their leaves to make a picture of the peacock that Jenson was so taken with.

What have you got planned for half term? Are there any lovely autumnal activities which I need to add to the list?
