Have I ever told you that I’m really quite talented at buying gifts? Well I am. Blowing my own festive trumpet and all that but I absolutely love choosing presents that I know are perfect for the intended recipients.

For make-up lovers (or even those that fear eyeshadow but would secretly LOVE to plaster their lids in shimmer) then a palette is the answer. Not only are they portable but there is bound to be shades to suit everyone, and many more to experiment with.

You can see some of my 2016 favourites in the header image above but I’ve also included some absolute bargains within the list below. Did I also mention that you are absolutely entitled to purchase any of the items for yourself? One has to test out the goods before bestowing them on your friends you know.

For you sister or best friend then one of the Urban Decay Naked palettes are fail safe. Both Lauren and I have the number “2” and it’s all kinds of amazing. You can purchase yours at John Lewis.

We should probably talk about this “Sweet Peach Face Compact” from Mac. It is beautiful to look at and the texture and pigment of both the colour enhancer and the highlighter is unreal. When I showed it to the team there was a LOT of admiration and additions to Santa’s list.

On the subject of Mac – their Pro lip palette in Necessary Nude includes some of their best-selling shades such as Fleshpot and Honey Love.

I’m a recent convert to BECCA cosmetics – I really appreciate the glow-giving finish the products impart on my moisture starved complexion. The Blushed With Light Palette contains a trio of luminous colours, “Wisteria” a delicate mauve pink, “Songbird” a warm bronze and “Snapdragon” an orange coral. The hues will work for ALL seasons.

If you’ve read Lolly’s Sparkle feature then you would have seen her recommend Becca’s shimmering skin perfectors. I have the Glow on the go set which is excellent. If you are fair skinned with yellow undertones “Moonstone” is just about the most natural hue of luminizer/enhancer there is. Fact.

Bobbi Brown’s Illuminating Powder is another winner, sweep your brush over the pretty shades for some much needed lustre.

Bargain wise Make-up Revolution at Superdrug has a wide range of gorgeous palettes that would work well as stocking fillers. My favourite is Girls On Film.

Rock My Style favourite Soap and Glory have created the Glamorama palette for the grand sum of £20. It’s ace. Not only do you receive a Supercat liquid liner (a bestseller) a Thick & Fast mascara, a sexy mother pucker lip lacquer AND a Glow All Out face powder….but also 3 sexy smoky shades of eyeshadow too.

You can of course buy multiples of these palettes for a lot less than full price – as is the enabling device that is Boots 3 for 2.

Happy Shopping!

P.S If you want to see (possibly too many at the same time…) these products on my face you can via instagram.
