It’s been over a month since I put out a desperate plea for your support while I grow out my crop. Thanks to some very good suggestions from you lovely lot I am keeping sane and other than a slight trim, I haven’t been tempted to undergo the chop.
Bleach London Reincarnation Mask, £6, Boots
Recommended by Emma, this mask is keeping my caramel highlights nourished and hydrated.
It’s a pre-shampoo so I apply a decent sized dollop to damp hair and leave for about ten minutes. After rinsing I then pile on the shampoo as normal.
My colour is definitely more vibrant after and all my locks feel revived with tonnes more elasticity, plus it’s an absolute bargain. Can you tell I’m very impressed?!
Skin, Hair & Nails, £6.99, Superdrug
Jenna suggested I try a supplement to stimulate my follicles. I’m currently using the Superdrug own brand Skin, Hair and Nail which includes vitamin C, Natural Beta Carotene, Selenium and Zinc. It’s probably a placebo effect but I really feel like my hair has grown as a result. My skin is definitely clearer.
Batiste Dry Shampoo, £2.99, Boots
I still haven’t got out of the routine of washing my tresses every morning. Rather than use a dry shampoo to get a clean hair feeling, I’ve been using the Batiste spray powder as a styling aid to give lift and definition.
TRESemmé Hairspray Freeze Hold, £3.50, Boots
I used to swear by Elnett as a finishing spray but with increased length I’ve needed something with a bit more va-va-voom and hold. I’ve been using Tresemme Freeze Hold and finding my hair doesn’t budge at all. This is strong stuff. To avoid a crispy finish I’ve lifted the hair in the crown section and sprayed underneath to create volume.
Grips
For bulky fringes and experimental up dos during the in-between stage. Where do they all go though? I only have about half a pack left!
If anyone else is tempted to grow out their crop then do check out the previous post. There were lots of brilliant suggestions for products to use. Please keep me updated if you have any more you’d like to recommend.
Glad your are giving them a go! 🙂
All good so far Jenna. Thanks for the suggestion x
Glad you love the resurrection mask Lauren! Just wanted to let you know you don’t need to wash it out. I did exactly as you did and shampooed after, the instructions aren’t clear as it says applied to ‘pre shampooed hair’ and I thought like you that meant wash it out but thought that seemed strange so I facebooked bleach and they said it means to hair that has already been shampooed and not to rinse! #aboymusthavewrittentheinstructions! Xx
Emma, this is a revelation! Does it work even more effectively if you use it this way? I’ll be trying tomorrow x
Yes I think so 🙂 the instructions are super silly! X
