As I’m sure you’ve all realised, it’s Christmas Day next week. There may be presents left to wrap (or in my case, buy), food left to order and merriment to be had and let’s face it we’re all shattered. If you still haven’t managed to complete your Christmas decor I’m hoping you’ll appreciate these five quick ideas.
Paper Trees
How about trying these 3D Paper Trees from Seventy Nine Ideas? Scatter them about the house or across your christmas table. Check out the easy tutorial on how to make them over on WikiHow.
Write a Message
If your hallway features a mirror, how about scribing a message to welcome your guests? Use a chalk pen to create the Merry Christmas wreath, or use a sharpie or even a nail whitening pencil to write a quote.
Easy Bell Jars
If you don’t have umpteen bell jars then whip out your wine glasses and turn them upside down. Voila instant display dome! Pile with baubles or pine cones or make your own snowstorm like the one shown in our slider from PopSugar.
Add a Wreath
I made a wreath last week using an oasis ring and armfuls of greenery. It only took me about twenty minutes but if you’re even more strapped for time then how about trying out this tutorial using an old scarf. Simply wrap around a foam ring, pinning in place as you go. Finish off with a ribbon for a cosy addition to your home.
Cookie Cutter
If you have the cutters but haven’t had a chance to make the biscuits then all is not lost. Tie the cutter to a jar or add a luggage tag and you have a super simple yet effective place name holder. You could even thread through a napkin for an effortless serviette ring.
Please do share any of your ideas for last minute decor. I still haven’t got a clue how to dress up my table for a pre-Christmas family bash James and I are throwing next week so I’d love to hear your thoughts.
wow, thank you 🙂 i’m happy that you like the idea.
happy holidays.
radostina

I think the cookie cutters are my favourite idea Mirlah. Merry Christmas to you too x
love all these ideas and so simple. so simple in fact that I shall be asking you to make them all for me next week. ha ha ha xxxx
I think we could get some child labour involved in the paper trees Han. They littles would love it!
Wow, those Christmas trees are so simple to make. Think I may make a batch to cover the Christmas table with. And as they are so easy (I hope!!) I won’t care if they get covered in gravy! Pretty much everything has ended up being last minute for me. I felt super organised about 5 weeks ago and had grand plans of lots of crafting. As usual I have a week left, no spare days, and oodles of wrapping to do let alone going to get a turkey and food for 12. Oops! Oh well, its only one day and pretty sure it will end up all coming together!! x
I’m in exactly the same boat Charlotte, though just cooking for six next week. There’s still so much to do! It will definitely come together – it always does x
Beautiful ideas!
