Today’s post title is a bit of a tongue twister admittedly, but I couldn’t think of a heading that was better fitted to my sartorial ramblings than this one (obviously I’m sure you lot have a mountain of much more creative ideas…answers on a postcard please).

If you read my post on the five things I’m looking forward to most this month then you’ll already know that it is my birthday next week and to celebrate we’ll be popping to the Cotswolds for a family getaway. I’m keeping all my fingers crossed that the weather will be a darn sight warmer than it has been these last few days…if only because it means I can wear my new party frock from Topshop…(a girl has got to buy a new dress for her birthday right?) to celebrate.

Which brings me not the subject of today’s post. Because it seems that nearly all of my purchases of 2017 (excluding anything house related of course) have been of the spotty variety. Yep that’s my party dress in the header image there..complete with a smattering of stars too. I’m not sure why there’s been this sudden obsession with full-on polka dots…I mean it’s not even been a conscious thing and I’ve never really been a fan before. That said there’s something so Kate Spade about them that it’s hard to resist; in short, they’re fun and chic to boot.

So in the spirit that sharing is caring, I’ve decided to share those finds I’ve already purchased and those I’m seriously considering adding to my shopping basket. Hopefully you’ll be able to share anything else you might have spotted (sorry couldn’t resist!) on your travels too.

Topshop

Ok so Topshop’s polka dot game is strong. Apart from the the aforementioned party dress complete with the prettiest of ruffled detailing on the shoulders and fluted sleeves. The favourite part of it for me has to be its mini cut style (excellent for those on the short side like myself!) and I’ll be teaming it with tights and black ankle boots to add a bit of edginess to the look.

I’ve also fallen in love with this funnel neck blouse by the brand which has sold out online (sob!) but I know that there’s stock in store so I’m hoping to nab one in my size on my next visit to town. The jacquard blouse is ticking all my sartorial boxes; from the rouleau tie detailing at the back of the neck and along the arm cuffs. It’s swishy, it’s sexy, and just look at those utterly impractical sleeves (which makes me want it even more!) I particularly love how Topshop have paired it with a pair of high waisted black jeans…I probably need them too.

Boden

It was actually Boden that kickstarted my dotty delirium with their vintage blue toned spotty silk shirt. I’ve purchased Boden’s silk shirts before (always with a discount voucher by the way!) and have always been impressed with the quality of their products. I like the oversized design of this blouse as well as the double pockets. But most of all I like the pop of the pillar box red/orange spots against the blue. Dreamy!

Also from the brand there’s this glitter dotty sweatshirt which I’ve told Ste I need so I can look half decent taking Hector to the park in. I mean glitter will make anyone look good (and I’m hoping this includes me with those crescent moon shaped bags under my eyes). Plus it’s machine washable so it means I can bung it in the washing machine when I inevitably get smeared with mud from Hector’s shoes as he tries to scramble up me for the forty fifth time!

John Lewis

Pyjamas. Because I know how much you lovely lot adore a decent set of sleepwear. John Lewis, as ever, comes to the rescue with their ‘Carrie’ design made from 100% navy cotton. This is a classic button through pyjama shirt set detailed with a woven spot design throughout and finished with a smart white trim to the cuffs, neckline and pocket.

Jigsaw also have an amazing mocca hued set in the sale (still with availability in all sizes by the way!) priced at a very respectable £24.

H&M

And lastly H&M, where I found that animal print bowl in the header image has tonnes of spotty designs on their rails at the moment. My favourite? This off-white long-sleeved blouse complete with collar and concealed buttons down the front and a rounded hem that is slightly longer at the back. Perfect for that office to bar transition.

And that brings me to the end of today’s roundup. Have any of you seen some amazing polka dots that I simply need to know about? I’m wondering if Hector and I wearing matching spots is a step too far….you need to tell me if it is!
