If you saw Allison’s beautiful tour showcasing the downstairs of her home last week then you’ll have been waiting in anticipation to see the upstairs in all its glory. They say good things come to those who wait and this perfectly pastel palace is no exception.

Today we’ll be looking around the master bedroom, Allison and her husband’s oh so pretty home office and their daughter’s bedroom which has bags of style (way more than I ever did in my teenage years!). It’s so good that I want to move in. I’ll pass you over to Allison now to tell you more…

Upstairs is home to my bedroom which is located at the front of the house, it’s permanently flooded with light from the two large windows. This room is mostly filled will old vintage and up-cycled furniture which I’ve collected over time. I love to trawl secondhand furniture stores to see what treasure I can find and my best buy was the beautiful armoire style wardrobe, an absolute bargain at £50, I didn’t even need to paint it! Result! I’ve accessorised the space with handmade cushions, throws, sheepskin rugs and some simple botanical artwork, a few plants and eucalyptus add some greenery and I always have jugs of fresh flowers dotted around the room preferably freesias and roses so I can wake up to their beautiful fragrance in the morning.

At night I like to dim all the lights, burn my favourite scented candles and put all the sparkly fairy lights on, it’s the most magical way to fall asleep! I love the calm atmosphere I’ve created in this room by keeping it uncluttered and simple and the colour palette is so soft and gentle it’s the perfect place to curl up with a good book after a long and busy day.

Just along the landing is my daughters room which is full of lots of girly loveliness, this is her special space and she has styled it all exactly how she wants it to be, from the artwork on the walls, some of which she has printed and framed herself to making the shelves look extra pretty! Very often I walk in and find her painting an old piece of furniture or giving the dressing table a new coat of pink, she’s very handy with a paintbrush and very creative with her styling. Ha I can’t imagine where she gets it from!

Then there’s the family bathroom and the spare room too which we turned into a small home studio for me. This is where the magic happens! It’s my happy place to get creative whenever I’m in the mood, which can be first thing in the morning or very late at night! You’ll often find me in here making something in my pyjamas! It’s very organised and tidy with plenty of neat storage for everything, I find it impossible to work and get creative in a mess! Like the rest of the house, the walls are white in here too so I have plenty of room to pin ideas and inspiration, so many of my big projects have started life here and it’s the perfect backdrop for styling and photographing for the online store and blog.
