Hands up if you’ve fallen head over heels in love with the new cold shoulder trend?

I absolutely adore it and if money was no object I would quite happily add each and every item I’ve selected for the post into my own wardrobe. The simple exposure of bare shoulders instantly makes a classic item sassy and fun without being too overt.

Shirts

One piece that did make it into my shopping basket was the New Look stipe shirt. Having tried and tested it I instantly felt comfortable, but that I’d also made an extra effort and on that basis I will most definitely be adding the classic white Topshop shirt into my virtual basket too. When things are easy to wear and have hidden confidence boosting properties, it’s definitely a win, win.
Every girl should also have a least one denim shirt in her life, if not more. If like me you’re the latter, you should definitely pop the ASOS cold shoulder denim shirt into your basket along with this paisley blouse as you can never have enough blouses too right? Well that’s what I’m telling myself!

Dresses

The recent warmer climes we briefly experienced got me dreaming of summer and pretty dresses. The plethora of off the shoulder ruffle dresses available on the high street are fabulous. There’s the denim and blue linen bardot dresses from Zara and a similar style light blue linen dress from Warehouse which all of Rock My Ltd are coveting. And if you prefer your bardot dresses with prints Mango have two lovely prints to choose from.

The lovely Lauren’s favourite item from her capsule wardrobe was her curved hem jersey dress, which you all loved too and I’m all sure you’ll be pleased to know has been re-designed for Spring by Monki for ASOS incorporating the adorable cold shoulder detail. The fact that it’s only £20 makes it even more desirable.

My favourite dress has to be the blue ruffle dress. Maybe because it resembles a shirt….you all know how I feel about shirts. I do love the light cotton material too, it’s the perfect day dress.

Tops

How adorable is the ASOS cold shoulder casual top. I can just imagine popping that on with some cropped jeans and cute flats and enjoying a cold glass of something in the garden. The Marks and Spencer white ruffle top would look equally sweet with it’s ruffles billowing in the breeze, and I love the colour of these light blue cold shoulder and cornflower blue bardot tops.

H&M have trumped everyone with a bargainous off-the-shoulder ruffle top for a mere £12.99. The sweet black and white stripe pattern, makes it versatile for day or night. As does the Zara plain white poplin top, just swap your flats for heels and you have two different outfits.

I know the whole point of wearing a jumper is to feel warm, but I have to say I love the grey marl sweater and pointelle mesh cold shoulder knit. It’s that thing again about taking a simple, easy to wear item and making it sassy. If you really do want to take the chill off, you could layer things up and add this cute stripe t-shirt underneath.

So who’s going to join me this Bank Holiday weekend and get their shoulders out?
