We apologise for being a little later then normal with this years wedding guest fashion edit, but last year we felt we peaked to early and missed out on some real gems. Hopefully your mailbox and calendar is still full of wedding dates and we can help you find the perfect outfit. Plus some of the sales have started now, so you may even bag yourself a bargain.

Yellow

So apparently yellow is the colour to be in this year, it started with a flurry of celebrities wearing yellow gowns at the Golden Globe awards in January and has continued on the Spring/Summer catwalks. It is after all the colour of the sun, so warm and inviting, making it the epitome of Summer. If you’re still not convinced and dubious about pulling it off, trust me there is a hue for everyone, be it zingy, pastel or muted.

My favourite of the yellow gowns has to be the flirty broderie anglaise dress from Warehouse. The three quarter sleeves and double layer skirt are divine and absolutely perfect for twirling on the lawn with a glass of Prosecco in hand. Although the high neck and cap sleeves on the Marks and Spencer lace dress is a close second. Reminding me of the gorgeous bodice detail of Pippa Middleton’s Giles Deacon wedding dress. And remember what I said about the sales starting, you can now pick up the Warehouse burn out dress for a mere £40. Seems rude not to at that price.

Florals

The team recently circulated this picture of Holly Willoughby in a Raquel Balencia Couture floral maxi dress around Rock My towers and we each fell in love with it (and Holly!). Since then we haven’t been able to get the gorgeous chiffon number out of our minds, so we are delighted to see so many gorgeous floral frocks on the high street.

ASOS for me seem to have captured the essence of the gown beautifully with their floral ruffle front maxi dress and floral maxi tea dress options. Only hard part is which one to purchase!
But if you like your floral frocks a little more structured then how about these beautiful blue dresses from Zara and Warehouse? I can picture both with a pashmina and heels, and also with flats and a sunhat, which means double the wear.

I’d also more than happily make room in my wardrobe for the Oasis Royal Worcester dress. Such a gem.

Separates

I love the versatility of separates. You could wear the same skirt with a different top or vice versa and create a whole new outfit, perfect if you’ve got more than one wedding on the horizon. Plus if you’re pear shaped or have a longer torso like me you can get items to fit you in all the right places.

Pleats are showing now sign of disappearing anytime soon, which is great because we LOVE them. If you search the high street you could probably find at least one in your desired colour, or fabric of choice. I’ve fallen hard for the metallic Coast high low skirt and Marks and Spencer midi, and in the words of one of our Instagram followers when we shared a recent silver skirt picture “you could do your makeup in it!”

Tulle skirts always make me happy too, I’ve never actually had occasion to wear one yet, but as soon as the invitation drops on my mat one of these blush or charcoal beauts will be in my online basket quicker than the bride and groom can say I do.

Jumpsuits

Of course you don’t have to wear a skirt or a dress to look elegant. These jumpsuits are proof of that, plus there are no chances of any Marilyn moments if there’s a sudden gush of wind, or you’ve had one too many gins and you end up stumbling to the ground. Not that we encourage such behaviour. Who are we kidding, of course we do 😉

This Coast Melinda Pleat and Lace Jumpsuit doesn’t even look like a jumpsuit the trousers are that seamless, and how divine are the cap sleeves on the Savanna Red jumpsuit.
