It’s an absolute honour being invited to a family or friends nuptials and sometimes shopping for a new outfit is just as much fun as attending the wedding itself. Especially when you find something you really LOVE. Which is often in my case – oops sorry credit card & hubby!

I’ve even been known to buy a dress a year in advance I’ve been that excited. By the time the wedding comes round, I’ve probably bought another two options too which actually isn’t very cost effective at all! To make sure your hard earned cash goes a little further we’ve covered outfits from as little as £22 up to £200. As if you’re like me are attending several weddings in one season with the same guests you probably don’t want to be rocking up in the same dress. Obviously this can be quite a spendy affair so it’s always good to have a few budget options as well as a lavish one.

Last week we chatted about Wedding Guest Attire Etiquette and we absolutely loved reading all your stories. I think we can safely say we are all guilty of a bit of people watching when we’re out. So to ensure you stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons here are a few of RMS’s favourite frocks for you to don at your next event.

Lace

I am a huge lover of lace, my own wedding dress was lace, but I don’t think I’ve actually worn a lace dress as a wedding guest yet. I’m seriously questioning why when all these gorgeous dresses are available.
My absolute favourite has to be the Warehouse Lace Cream Shirt Dress. The fabric is simply stunning and that floaty skirt is the perfect length for being sassy and conservative. I can just imagine teaming it with a metallic clutch & courts and feeling amazing. But move quick if you like it too as stock is moving fast and I don’t want you to miss out.

I also homed in on the Oasis Red Lace Dress, so flirty and girly and an absolutely bright and beautiful hue for lace as is the Phase Eight blue lace dress with contrasting lining to make the lace pop plus the hem detail is beaut.

I actually already own a very similar version of this Marks and Spencer mono lace dress. It’s great to see it reworked and back on the high street as it really is a lovely design and such a flattering shape.

Block Colour

I think I have actually managed to cover the rainbow with my choice of dresses for you all, which means if you know what the colour scheme of the wedding you’re attending is, you can choose to avoid or match it as desired. You’re welcome.
I’ve also included a black and a few cream/blush dresses into the mix as many of you are actually not adverse to seeing your guests in these shades or have rocked them yourself, often teaming them with bright accessories, which is exactly what I do with the gorgeous black, layered top & pleated skirt, All Saints dress.

If I was to choose a bright hue, I’d actually be hard pressed to make a decision. I LOVE the details on so many of them. Rob teases me and calls my dresses Blue Peter dresses as they were never plain. I mean how can you not love the pleated skirt and cap sleeves on the Karen Millen Red Dress, but also that sexy open back of the Mango Petrol Blue Dress. You can see my dilemma and why I end up with SO many frocks.

Prints

Wearing a print is possibly the safest option for not matching or trying to look like you are a wannabe bridesmaid. Ditsy floral prints always look adorable at summer weddings. Think Prosecco on the lawn and the sun beaming down and a gown covered in blooms. *Sigh*

The Bardot neckline seems to be an absolute favourite cut on the high street at the moment, feminine and flirty all at the same time and if you don’t fancy the Oasis V&A pencil print dress or the ASOS Botanical Prom Dress then these separates from Coast are just as adorable. Matching a cobalt blue fold crop top with a printed wrap skirt.
