Happy Wednesday you lovely lot. To celebrate reaching mid-week we’re treating you with the final home tour instalment from Katie of The Vintage House That Could. Let’s take a look upstairs shall we?

Master Bedroom

All of the floors have been painted upstairs and it feels really light. Our bedroom is dressed simply with vintage finds and the built-in cupboard means we don’t need a wardrobe taking up space so I can display my wedding shoes and pretty dresses!! I have a very understanding husband. I like to keep the bedding white and then accessorise with colour on cushions and the blanket.

Bedroom

My daughter’s room is somewhere that we are constantly adding to as she gets older and her tastes change. We are now channeling a pink and gold theme! But the flowery wallpaper still works well and the vintage pieces of furniture have all been sourced to fit in with the pastel theme.

My little boy’s room is tiny! So we had to put up lots of shelves and use under the bed as storage. I used bright colours and letter garlands to make it more fun.

Bathroom

The bathroom is a lovely space mainly because of the roll top bath. This was black when we moved in and was a bit tatty so we had it re enamelled and I painted it my best colour – duck egg blue. I love it, and I love to use flowers to bring the garden inside. Everything else is simply decorated with more of my vintage finds on the shelves.

Because our home is small we have to be clever with storage and I tend to use old ottomans for this. I find them, recover them and use them for bedding, towels and other things we have no homes for. Most of our furniture is second hand and it is important to me that I don’t spend much on each piece. I love high street stores like Cox & Cox, Ikea and H&M Home but the majority of pieces have been bought home because I fell in love with them in a field!! I love anything with a story, with paint chips and scratches’, for me this is what makes our home unique and somewhere that people like to be.

Our home has had a massive influence on my decision to leave teaching and become a full time event stylist and vintage shopper. This is my absolute passion and the idea of doing it for other people to enjoy makes it even better. I love showing people how I style up the pieces I find and helping them to make their events truly special.
