We’ve had a slight wordpress glitch this morning so no new content, however we thought you may have missed our recent skincare feature which was published the morning of our Brexit discussion. We’ll be back bright and early tomorrow morning with a brand new fashion post. Have a good one folks.

Need a few items to give your skin some TLC? Well we’re all here to help with our top ten summertime saviours. I’m afraid we can’t guarantee you’ll look like the lovely Steph above who we made stand amongst the nettles in her undies on a shoot a few years ago but you’ll be well on your way.

Moisturise

  1. I swear by Vaseline’s Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Spray Moisturiser. It’s the lazy lady’s moisturiser in that you can spray it all over your body and then quickly rub in. The coverage is more even than when you squirt it out of a tube or tub and it’s a slightly thinner consistency too which means it sinks in more quickly so you don’t have to look like a slick rick for more than five minutes. {Lolly}
  2. Good old Palmers Cocoa butter is super cheap and keeps me moisturised after a day in the sunshine. {Lottie}
  3. I’m also converted back to using Palmers Cocoa Butter now they do it in a fragrance free version (I don’t mind the original scent actually but it is overpowering and doesn’t always mix with your perfume that well). I had a weird rash/reaction on my legs whilst in Portugal, either an allergy to sun cream or a new “travel” body lotion product I though would be space-saving (rolls eyes at self – NEVER take new products on holiday without testing them first!)…. The cocoa butter cleared it up in a day. {Charlotte}
  4. Tan

  5. The only other thing I wear in the summer is Dove’s Summer Glow (which has been replaced by the DermaSpa version). It’s a moisturiser with a gradual tanning agent, which looks best if you build up the colour over several days, applying it after you’ve had a shower. {Lolly}
  6. My favourite summer skin product right now is Cocoa Brown One Hour Instant Tan Mousse. It gives you a nice natural colour, rather than a weird shade of orange or indeed mahogany and doesn’t smell as much like biscuits as other fake tan products I’ve tried. {Charlotte}
  7. Face

  8. Thanks to three pregnancies the pigmentation on my face has never fully recovered, and I suffer with quite a few dark spots. This is heightened in the summer months no matter how much I avoid the sun or SPF I apply, but I’ve just discovered Clinique’s Dark Spot Corrector which doesn’t quite correct it, but definitely improves my uneven skin tone. {Lorna}
  9. I never put my face in the sun without SPF as I burn at the mere mention of the word ‘sunshine’ Avon’s Sun+ SPF50 Anti-Ageing Face Cream is just the ticket for high protection without blocking pores. {Lauren}
  10. Scrub

  11. I used Body Shop’s Special Edition Piñita Colada Body Scrub at my friend’s house recently and I need to get my hands on this bad boy. The formulation includes shredded coconut to exfoliate skin and smells like tropical paradise. {Lauren}
  12. Shimmer

  13. For my bit of luxe I love Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc shimmering body oil, the coconut-esque summer scent is AMAZING. And it makes your epidermis glow like nothing else. Not to mention the fact that the fancy bottle looks lush on your dressing table. Spendy? Yes. Worth it? Totally. {Charlotte}
  14. Tootsies

  15. Pop on Soap and Glory Heel Genius before bedtime and you end up with super soft tootsies. {Lottie}

What are you summer saviours? Any products we just have to try?
