You all know I’m a big fan of the capsule wardrobe concept so when M&S asked us to collaborate on the launch of their Everywear Collection I was sold. The latest launch features four wardrobe staples, the classic shirt, casual light jacket, skinny jean and ever popular mule; stylish hero items that can be worn in many different ways whatever the weather.

No-one can pull of a white shirt quite like our lovely Lottie so I asked her to take the Everywear Shirt and show us how she’ll be wearing hers this Spring. Over to our model…

I love a white shirt but since having the girls it seems to have been relegated to the back of the wardrobe. Now that we are over the sticky fingers/baby sick/general mess phase (mostly!) it’s time to reinstate it. I like a very classic shape when it comes to my shirts and I suit a slightly more fitted style so this one is perfect, especially as it’s easy iron too. There are a multitude of ruffly numbers or cuts out there but I think you can’t go far wrong with a good white shirt. It can see you through numerous occasions and is definitely a wardrobe staple.

Casual Day

For daytime I love nothing better than a good pair of indigo jeans and crisp white shirt. It’s such a classic look and I’m definitely a classic girl at heart. I team my favourite M&S jeans with my trusty tan Saltwater sandals, a hug tote and a good pair of sunnies. I like to leave the shirt here untucked with the bottom button undone for a bit of a relaxed vibe and the sleeves most definitely get rolled up when the sun’s out. White Shirt Day

At The Office

When I worked in an office we had a smart casual dress policy so for me popping on a white shirt was a simple way to smarten up an outfit. This shirt is great as it has concealed buttons on the inside to prevent any unwanted underwear reveal. Pop one on with a cute skirt and you are ready to go. I’ve recently become a convert to a little tie at the bottom of the shirt. Leave a few buttons undone and tie yourself a little knot instead. You know, just like you used to at school when you wanted to look super cool. Wear with some sweet court shoes and an oversized shoulder bag. I am also loving this look with a soft tulle skirt for a relaxed lunch or casual day out perusing the sights. Obviously I do that so often!

Going Out Out

Finally this summer I am embracing the all white look which is a bit scary on a bright sunny day but I figure it can look super chic. Lauren promises me it is very Alexa Chung so who am I to argue. I’ve just purchased these stretchy white jeans from M&S (also from the Everywear range) which I’m looking forward to dressing up or down as the mood takes me. This time the shirt gets firmly tucked in with a nice skinny belt. If I was feeling daring I may even undo an extra top button! It would look great with some layered necklaces and a statement bangle. A nice strappy heel or court shoe in a nude colour keeps it looking classy and a bright lip will give you a little pop.

Any other ways you like to wear your white shirt? How gorgeous is all this sunny weather, it makes me want to ditch all the winter wear and stock up my spring wardrobe. How about you?

This post was produced in collaboration with M&S but you know we’d never mention any products we didn’t love.
