As I looked around my office earlier this week I noticed most of the ladies were donning some form of ‘whitewear’ for work. Thanks to my extraordinary talent for missing my mouth when munching on my lunch I usually shy away from such a light colour but even I have splashed out on a few white items for my wardrobe.
While we’re all basking in this heatwave why not take a look at our ethereal summer white edit.
M&S
It’s taken me a little while to get on board with the update to the nineties peasant top but judging by a couple of recent additions to my closet it would seem I am embracing the ‘cold-shoulder’ trend. This romantic Lulu Kennedy M&S dress is only available in a few sizes now so get in quick.
Boden

I know this little gem has cut out sides which normally I would leave for the teenage folk. However a friend recently wore a very similar style to this Topshop Cut-Out Pinafore and it was extremely flattering. As you are showing off the area above your hips rather than a full-on flash of the midriff it’s all very sexy but the the midi length makes it demure at the same time. Throw on a leather jacket to funk up the look.

A loose, flowy top is always a good shout in the heat of the summer and I imagine you could go down a size in this pretty blouson sheer top from Phase Eight.

Play around with textures in this very sweet organza skirt from Cutie at House of Fraser. It would look fab teamed with a plain tank for an evening look.

I was looking for a delicate vest to pair with denim cutoffs and have been really pleased with this bargain embroidered top from Boohoo. At only £12 friends have commented it looks far more expensive. I team it with a bandeau underneath and denim jacket over the top.

Not strictly white, but most definitely a neutral, Coast’s Amaira Lace dress is a super stylish dress for a posh occasion. The capped sleeves and scalloped hem are particularly chic.

Ah thanks RMS – I have an ‘all-white’ party to go to and no clue what to wear as I don’t have many smart white dresses as most of my smart dresses I buy with weddings in mind and you never want to get a white dress for a wedding! This Coast number looks great, although I am toying with the idea of a white jumpsuit…too much?!
