I’ve been feeling a bit out of the fashion game for a while now.

I’m not sure whether it’s the lack of funds due to doing up the house, the fact that I have the teeniest temporary wardrobe to squash all my clothes into (squash being the operative word) so I no longer know what I own or if it’s a case of not really knowing how to dress my changed body shape from having Hector.

What I do know is that I’m in a bit of a fashion slump. I’m in need of a new handbag and everything I own looks a bit worn, a touch faded or just doesn’t do me any favours. So when I spied this Lover’s t-shirt on Lisa’s Leather Jacket post recently and fell in lust with it, I immediately clicked the buy it now button for a quick fashion fix.

My verdict? LOVE IT…I instantly felt a bit smarter and dare I say it…a bit cooler. I have also foolishly managed to shrink it in the wash so that it is most definitely of the cropped variety rather than a longer length. I guess I’ll just have to wear it with a skirt instead of my intended skinny jeans. But I digress…

Once I’d purchased my ‘Lover’ t-shirt I couldn’t help but spot the statement tee everywhere. Granted, a motivational motto or two will make an appearance on a t-shirt at least once every fashion season, but it seems like the High Street is awash with them this Spring. So I thought I’d make the most of my online browsing and share my finds with you this morning in time for pay day next weekend…you’re welcome!

ASOS

If there’s a t-shirt that sums up me perfectly then it would surely be this one from Adolescent Clothing at ASOS. In fact when I showed Ste the top he snorted at me and raised his eyebrows slightly. Last time I looked sizes were beginning to run out so it’s worth purchasing sooner rather than later if you feel you can’t live without it.

Topshop

Good ol’ Topshop. Aside from the now shrunk Lover embroidered t-shirt that I mentioned in the intro I’ve also got my eye on the Femme Forever T-shirt which I think our Becky has in her own wardrobe. I like the colour pop of the tomatoey red words against the grey flecked background of the t-shirt so it may very well be making an appearance in my own shopping basket as well…

Hush Homewear

Whilst not exactly a ‘slogan’ top, I’ve had my eye on this star cut out tee from Hush Homewear ever since their little Spring Look Book popped through my letterbox. I’ve also recently purchased this Star Jumper (which unfortunately is now only available in XS) but I was so impressed with the quality that I’m tempted to splash out on a few other things as well.

I love the oversized cut out star as well as the relaxed fit and was even more thrilled to see that the top comes in blush pink too…

Whistles

The lovely Lisa spotted this logo tee from Whistles so I simply had to include it in today’s round up. The top has been designed in a regular length with a round neck and the ‘Eh oui’ logo in contrasting black on a white background. It’s not cheap at £49.00 so it’s definitely an investment buy but given that the sizes are beginning to sell out I think it’s a high quality piece.

The Deep End Club

Sported by the lovely Ms Chung here, the Give A Damn tee by The Deep End Club has a kind of 70s vibe to it that is reminiscent of Shaggy, Scooby Doo and the gang. I can see this with a button front a-line skirt for summer and a pair of over-sized shades at a sunny picnic. Dreaming of summer already!

& Other Stories

& other stories are totally in on the Slogan action with their ‘Blue Monday‘ and ‘Red Shoes‘ printed t-shirts. Both tees are made from a cotton mix material and priced at a very respectable £19.

Mango

I felt up until recently that Mango had gone off the boil somewhat but with the recent discovery of their kids collection as well as a few killer products that I’ve added to my virtual shopping basket, I’ve changed my mind. Lisa shared her love for this red lips motif t-shirt which I think is super cute.

And if you’re after a bit of not so subliminal messaging then I highly recommend this white ‘Boss’ t-shirt which I’m intending to wear for when Ste gets home one day…you know just in case he needed reminding 😉

Zara

Perfect for those Wednesday afternoons when the week seems to have ground to a halt somewhat this ‘Extra Power‘ tee from Zara is the sartorial equivalent of an extra shot in your coffee. Whether it gives you extra go remains to be seen but I like the simple details and oversized design. Oh and it comes with shoulder pads too!

Wood Wood

The Eden t-shirt from Wood Wood is totally up my street. It reminds me of a top that Ste purchased for me in the early days of our relationship so made me smile when I first clapped eyes on it. Whilst the red version is currently sold out in all sizes, the blue design has most sizes left and you can sign up to be notified when your desired size is back in stock. Here’s to all the romantics out there…

A veritable feast of t-shirts for you to indulge in. And if anyone could tell me where I might be able to find a t-shirt like the beautiful designs produced by Maison Labiche then I’ll be your best friend forever. I’m after a calligraphied tee that I can customise but that doesn’t cost £50 a pop. Any ideas?
