Despite Mr Coleman telling me for several years that we REALLY needed an iPad, it wasn’t until last Christmas that I finally caved in. Somehow having access to five laptops really wasn’t enough.

Now I am the proud owner of half an iPad Air that I have used precisely twice. The moral of this story is not to go halves on a item that your husband really wants as you’ll never get to use it. Not even for half of the time.

However, I am hoping that he will finally hand it over at some point and so in anticipation I’ve been doing a bit of searching for tablet covers. I appreciate this isn’t quite as exciting as actually getting my mitts on the device but a few cases have taken my eye.

Alphabet Bags. Initial iPad Case | £25.00

I am still a huge fan of anything emblazoned with my initial so this cushioned tablet case gets my vote. It has a wipeable cover so will be easy to keep clean too. If I had one covered with L’s I think James might get the picture…

Good Luck Goods. Paris Je t’aime Eco-friendly iPad Sleeve | £24.00

This seller first caught my eye because they had a few of those snazzy book cover type sleeves. This Je t’aime sleeve is playful and bold coming in a choice of three neon colours. The inside is padded with soft felt cloth to protect your tablet screen and the outside is apparently made of the same material as jeans labels!

Posh Yarns. Handmade Personalised Tablet Case | £28.00

Hand crafted from linen and remnants of Liberty London fabric, this sleeve can be customised with anything you want to add the most personalised of touches. I really liked that this design also has a pocket to keep your notebook, phone or maybe your glasses safe too. It’s designed to fit all iPads and similar sized tablets.

Luscious Leather NYC. Leather iPad Cover | Around £45.00

This distressed leather case is probably my most masculine choice of the lot. I adore the swivel lock clasp and the double stitching, and would think that the more you use it, the more battered and aged the leather would become. The sleeve has a soft suede inner and will fit all iPads.

Zero Case. Black Chevron on Printed Grey Wood Case | From £10

These durable plastic cases are like a huge phone cover for your iPad. There’s lots of different designs to choose from but if nothing takes your fancy, you can request a custom design too.

KleverCase. Bram Stoker Classic Book Cover for iPad Mini | £35.00

Although this case wouldn’t fit my iPad it was great to find a Classic Book Cover style case that’s not just for an eReader. There’s a few other titles available too and the design means you can still access all the bells and whistles on your device.

Aukward. Hearts And Crafts Case For iPad | £119.00

Although this is a pricey bit of kit, I’ve included this design because it’s so darn pretty.
The case is designed and made in Britain using traditional bookbinding skills using designer Emma Bridgewater’s fabric.

Zazzle. Polka Dot iPad Case | £34.00

I’m quite partial to the polka dot and this was the only design I found that promoted its standing prowess, so great if you want to watch films on your tablet.

To be honest there doesn’t seem to be too much out there for the Air but there’s plenty of cases around for other tablets. Are there any others you’d like to suggest?
