Next time you’re picking up your bread and milk it’s definitely worth checking out the homeware aisles of your local supermarket. I have been extremely impressed with some of the pieces coming out of the top chains at the moments. Many could be mistaken for much pricier boutique alternatives.

They have picked up on all the key trends for this year and then some. From cushions to throws, vases to lighting. Even the bigger furniture pieces are worth a peek. I am making a rather long shopping list, and I’m not talking about broccoli and carrots.

Sainsburys

Sainsburys has long been one of my favourites for some fabulous homewares. They always seem to get the colours and prints spot on and are great quality.

This season they have some fabulous botanical goodies for you. Picking up on the love of painterly florals from last year but giving it a much fresher take for spring. I love this look with it’s Ferns and butterflies. Such a gorgeous look when mixed with touches of copper. For your table pick up some of their botanist china with it’s delicate fronds and couple with the most gorgeous green wine glasses and tumblers.

In the lounge this embroidered cushion would look gorgeous piled on the sofa or chair. And it’s only £14. And then there is this copper lamp. I kid you not, it is immense and not at all what I would expect from a supermarket. There are a whole host of pretty trinkets and accessories like this gorgeous green glass vase or this hexagonal lantern. Just pop a little succulent inside and you’ve got this nailed.

If you are dreaming of sunnier climes then the Moroccan Blue collection is just perfect. I adore the rich indigo’s and graphic prints. Mixed in with lots of white to soften the look I may well be purchasing quite a few of these myself. This embroidered bedlinen is just gorgeous. I love white linens but the subtle blue embroidery just gives it something special. Add a few of these gorgeous printed cushions and this fabulous tassled number to create a super cosy haven.

For serving up your tagines (or just beans on toast!) then I love the patterns on these dinner plates and there are some super cure nibble bowls and indigo tumblers to go alongside them. And how amazing are these ombre placemats?

Asda

Asda can be relied on for super fun and quirky prints at bargain prices.

I’m going to kick off with a whole host of tropical fun. Granted, it may not be to everyone’s taste but you know we love a good pineapple. This Parrot fringed cushion has just the right amount of fun. And if you want to brighten up your bedroom this watermelon duvet set is all sorts of ace. Keeping with the brights I love their new take on the nordic inspired knitted pouffes. I have this in grey already but the yellow would really brighten up the lounge and I’m pretty sure Molly would love the pink in her room. At £39 these are so much cheaper than anywhere else I found. And this copper effect pineapple vase is immense.

Carrying on the copper theme Asda has everything you could need. If you want to make your digestives look that little bit more special then pop them in this copper biscuit barrel. An utter bargain at £5. I’ve been meaning to buy an alarm clock for a while. Yes, the kids inevitably wake me up before it’s light but this traditional style clock has got a new copper twist so may be being added to the basket. In the lighting department these beauties could easily pass for designer counterparts but the pricing is fantastic. How about a woven faux leather copper lampshade or this beautiful copper and glass table lamp.

It’s also worth checking out Asda for some great garden furniture. I adore this retro inspired three piece set. Yes, it is £149 but for a three piece garden furniture set that really isn’t bad. The colours would look fabulous out on the patio and I may need to add this retro bistro table too.

Finally I am loving these monogram throws for a fabulous £12.

Tesco

Tesco are another one to get the tropical trend nailed. They seriously have me dreaming of summer. I mean, hello Flamingo cushion! And if you don’t want to go all out bright but want a hit of tropicana then this pineapple print cushion is the best. A monochrome pineapple print with just a hint of bright pink. And only £10. Love it.

Getting a bit industrial I am eyeing up this oversized angle poise style floor lamp. At the moment it is only £64 which I think is a pretty good price for something that looks so good. If you are trying to create a little working space then the Dalston range is fantastic. I love the simple styling of this desk and at £50 it is a steal. Couple with a chunky metal chair for the perfect mini office. There are also shelving units in the same style which I think would look equally at home in a lounge.

I do love Mid Century styling and Tesco have got the colours and styles spot on. From fabulous furniture like the Palermo Dining chairs to most amazing lighting like this Thorpness metal pendant. It comes in grey, white or yellow and is only £19. Absolute steal. I also love the bold graphic print triangle rug which comes in grey or blue. But to be completely retro you need this amazing teapot for just £10. As if we needed an excuse to drink more tea.

And finally I must mention these mugs. Immense! It would help you choose which biscuit to eat with your tea because honestly that decision takes up far too much of my day. £6 for four folks. £6. Buy them now.
