With the nights becoming noticeably balmier it’s time to dust off your summer duvet and invest in some summer pyjamas.

I don’t know if you tuned in a couple of weeks ago when Lolly and Lauren debated wearing nightwear in the day, but let me tell you, it split the RMS reader nation. I am all for wearing your pjs when you get home from work/on a lazy Sunday morning round the house, so I have hunted down all the prettiest pjs on the high street at the moment.

Hush

I am going to start with my absolute favourites, these flamingo print beauties from Hush. They are fun and flirty and made of lightweight cotton, making them ideal for the warmer nights. Choose from the pyjamas, the PJ trousers or the bed shorts.

Topshop

If you are after something all slinky and seductive then take a peep at this navy-and-black embroidered cami top and shorts. Alternatively, if you fancy something a bit snugglier then this striped loungewear hoodie and shorts set should float your boat.

Marks and Spencer

I have to admit that I like to co-ordinate my nightwear. How sad is that? This dreamy M&S pyjama top and shorts set would fit beautifully in to my grey-and-pink hued collection, plus it features the pattern du jour, the palm print. I’m not sure that it really matters if your pjs are bang on trend, but how pretty do they look?

Second on my must-have list from M&S are these Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Thai Rose Print Pyjamas. You can choose from the short pyjama set or the top and cuffed hem bottoms. Or buy both so you can mix-and-match the tops and the bottoms. I love the vintagey flower print and the flattering teal blue colour. Also, according to the M&S website, you are ‘promised’ a perfect night’s sleep. What’s not to love?!

John Lewis

During the winter my cover-up nightwear of choice is my White Company Ultimate Hydrocotton Robe (in slate grey of course). However in the summer I prefer something lighter such as a kimono, so I am currently lusting after this pastel bloom kimono and matching cami-and-short pyjama set. The delicate floral print and intricate lace detailing on the cami are just so pretty.

Cath Kidston

When I used to hear the name Cath Kidston I would think pretty crockery and aprons, cute kids clothes, ditsy print bags…I did not think ‘cool pyjamas’. How wrong was I?! Check out this Cath Kidston ‘Gnome’ pyjama tee and bottoms. I love the bumble bee sitting on the toadstool and the garden gnome motif pattern on the bottoms! Similarly…how fun are these ‘Guards’ pyjama top and bottoms? And if you’ve got a little one you could even get the sleepsuit or jersey pyjamas and be all matchy matchy. I’m getting carried away now. Back to the sophisticated ladies’ nightwear…

LuvaHuva

How gorgeous is the babydoll and knicker set in the header image above? However not only is it beautiful, but it’s also ethically made and environmentally friendly…it’s made from 60% organic cotton and 40% soy. The LuvaHuva website is well worth a gander and is officially my new go-to place for lingerie.

Next

I am all over this Yellow Button Through Sleep Set from Next with its cute duck print and contrasting black piping. The traditional-style pyjama top has got a bit of a sleeve so it’s both practical and flattering. My obsession with the ducks, and the aforementioned Cath Kidston pjs, tells me that I must be a big kid at heart.

Boden

Although I like to co-ordinate my nightwear, I have also been known to mix it up a bit and team a pair of pyjama shorts with a black or white longline vest. (I know, I’m so rock and roll). I would quite happily wear any of these Boden woven shorts with a soft vest for the ultimate in comfort.

Forever 21

I love a watermelon motif almost as much as I love my pyjamas so I was extremely happy when I stumbled across these Forever 21 watermelon pyjamas. Plus, they look a LOT more expensive than their £12 price tag. At that price, you can afford to buy the elephant set too which have the same pocket detail and ruffle hem. Lyra has some elephant pjs and she calls them her ‘Efelant jim-jam-jamas’. Cutest. Thing. Ever.

Have you invested in any pjs recently, or are there any you have your eye on? Have I managed to persuade you that it’s ok to don them during the day?
