My “Railing my wardrobe” project has been reasonably successful, this last week was a bit of a disaster due to carpets being fitted and all of our belongings being essentially stored in my home office – i.e. where my rail is.

Excuses Excuses.

But I’m back on track now and having donated a few more items that were hanging around that I seemingly never wear to charity or friends.

I’ve decided it’s time to invest in a few Spring like purchases, my birthday treats (the Topshop dress in the header and this super flattering fit and flare skirt from Sandro) have made me consider alternative colours and interesting patterns/textures that I can mix and match with my existing pieces.

I had myself a mooch in Oasis on my way back from a meeting in London the other day and as per their excellent knitwear offering from winter, their pretty prints are equally as lovely (and good value). I currently have the Leila embroidered mesh Tee and the flute sleeve jumper (love this bright shade of mint) sitting in my virtual basket.

On the subject of fit and flare skirts I’m having a bit of a moment with them right now, I’m loving how the high waist style works with a shirt tucked in but can also be glammed up for evening with a cami and jacket. The Ella mixed texture skirt by Reiss gets my vote. And even though I really don’t suit a midi length due to my short legs and long body situation, I would absolutely love someone to buy this floating floral skirt from Warehouse. I’m thinking picnics in the park or just flouncing around because you can.

Last but not least can we talk about this Needle and Thread blouse? I am determined NOT to buy it because it’s spendy and no matter how hard I try I just can’t quite pull off the whole Gillian Anderson sexy/cool whilst-wearing-blouse vibe. I’ve tried. And failed. On numerous occasions.

How is your more capsule approach to your wardrobe coming along? And what has been your favourite most recent purchase? You know I love some dirty enabling action in the comments section.

And if anyone can recommend an amazing Spring coat (I’m thinking colour rather than black or grey) then you will be my best friend forever.

P.S I was sent a sample of the shade Miranda May by Charlotte Tilbury and it’s the PERFECT shade lipstick for brightening up your complexion during the warmer months – a kind of red meets pink meets coral love affair.
