I’m pretty sure I read somewhere that next Thursday is the most popular evening for a work Christmas party. With that in mind the Rock My Ltd girls have pulled together their favourite make-up products to take you from desk to bar in minutes. Now there’s a lot of shimmer going on here so perhaps best to choose one or two items unless you like the tinsel look 😉

Flick

I abandoned my gel eyeliner for a felt-tip stylee one after a recommendation from our beauty queen Charlotte. I like to use the Shu Uemura Caligraph Pen as my everyday liner (again recommened by Mrs O’Shea) as it has a finer nip, but this Soap and Glory Supercat Eyeliner is fabulous for getting a thicker, more dramatic flick. It’s long lasting too. I haven’t tried the jumbo fat version but it looks like a whole heap of fun.

Shimmer

It’s Christmas so shimmer is obligatory. The Bobbi Brown Shimmer Sparkle Eyeshadow is a grown-up sophisticated shimmer shadow so you won’t look like you’ve been let loose in Claire’s Accessories. Lorna likes this eyeshadow as it adds more of a sheer sheen than a heavily pigmented colour so you can layer over your day make-up.

Glitter

Charlotte’s party trick is to put some Urban Decay Midnight Cowboy eyeliner underneath the lower lash line, it’s a subtle yet sophisticated sheeny champagne gold glitter. Mrs O has been wearing it every year for over a decade during the festive season.

Sparkle

Alternatively Lolly’s loving Laura Mercier’s Caviar Stick in Sugar Frost for highlighting in all the right places with a bit of sparkle. Use the stick to apply and then rub in with your fingers if you need to blend so there’s no need to bring extra implements out with you. Lolly la Pop usually adds it to the inner corners of her eye and underneath the lower lash line.

Gloss

Becky loves a glossy lip at Chrimbo and highly recommends Bourjois Shine Edition. This ultra moisturising lipstick hydrates the lips so perfect for a winter night and adds a subtle colour too. Becky’s shade of choice is ‘Oh My Doll’, a suits-all fresh and girly pink.

Glow

Lolly also received a gorgeous gift from her mum last year, Guerlain’s Coque d’Or Shimmer Powder. It’s basically perfumed glittery powder that adds a glimmer of sparkle to you when you spray it on your body. I should mention the spray is not wet but dry so very weird but amazing coverage!

When’s your work ‘do’? Where are you off to and what kind of look are you donning? Anyone get dressed up like the lovely Joan for their festivities? (No, I don’t either). Also do let us know any new beauty purchases you’ll be sporting this festive season.
