My capsule wardrobe (yes the one I plan to share very soon) comprises mostly of greys, blacks and whites. If you find you have a similar palette and are in need of some bold pattern accessories, here are a few ideas.

Tartan Scarf

The other day I reached for my trusty black scarf to layer with my even trustier black coat and reminded myself that a few months back I declared I was going to be bold with pattern.
Off went said scarf to be replaced by my extra large Zara tartan blanket clashing with my black and white striped midi dress. Instantly I felt like I’d made a bit more effort, and due to the sheer size of the scarf, about ten degrees warmer.
I am very much liking the blankety wrap type scarves that seem to be all the rage at the moment. They seem to be an even easier way to wear a cape. If you want to stick to the regular scarf style then you can’t go wrong with this oversized Asos scarf.

Felt Fedora

Last week on a walk in Suffolk, I put my Fedora well and truly to the test. When the heavens opening my hair and head stayed dry proving function and fashion aren’t mutually exclusive. (Ooh, yes Charlotte. I did remove when I went for Sunday dinner). My grey H&M one has sold out in the smaller sizes, but River Island have a rather fancy two tone camel and black version.

Leopard Clutch

Unleashing your animal instincts can add much needed drama to an all-black ensemble. This leopard print clutch from Next is a great way to make a statement.

Geo Jewels

I’ve found I’m more and more drawn to simpler pieces of jewellery at the moment rather than my usual blingier pieces. For a fuss-free silhouette try simple shapes just as circles, hexagons and triangles. I’ve got my eye on these triangular necklaces from Etsy.

Bold Lipstick

A winter berry lip seems to look fab on every beauty blogger but makes me look like I’m still dressed for halloween. Instead I’m going for shades of red at the moment. Revlon’s ColorBurst Lip Butter in Candy Apple is a fail safe moisturising option if you’re suffering from dry lips. Thank you to RMS Reader Nicola for the recommendation! It’s like a highly pigmented lip balm rather than your average lipstick so I’ve been filling my lips in first with MAC’s ‘Lasting Sensation’ Lip Pencil to make the colour last longer.
