The upstairs of Elle’e home needs little introduction, other than it’s just as gorgeous as the downstairs. I apologise if it makes you want to climb straight back into bed though, Elle’s bedrooms are so relaxing!

Main Bedroom

In the main bedroom, we added shutters to the window (this also means that they match with the sitting room window at the front of the house); and we changed the carpet. As with the sitting room we painted this room in F&B “Wevet” for a light and bright feel. I painted the fire surround in there and in the sitting room in Annie Sloan chalk paint “Paris Grey”. The things I get asked about most in here are the bed; that’s from Loaf. The bedspread and sheets are all The White Company. My tall white chest of drawers; this is Ikea but I changed the handles to ones from Anthropologie.

Spare Room

The two smaller bedrooms were created and re-plastered/ finished in early 2016. We asked the builders to match their finishing to the rest of the house with plaster cornice and ceiling roses, as we wanted the rooms to feel like they had always been there. The guest room has more of a Scandinavian feel; the bed is Ikea and all of the linen and cushions are Also Home. The chest was another eBay find that I sanded and painted. Most of the accessories and the shelf were again picked up from antique markets.

The Nursery

The nursery is painted in F&B Cabbage White. It is the sunniest room in the house in the afternoon, which means even as the tiniest room in the house it is so welcoming. The chair in the corner is a Victorian armchair that I picked up for £50 on Gumtree and had re-upholstered to fit in this room. The mobile I made with driftwood I collected on the beach in Cornwall. The sheepskin on the floor is from John Lewis and the knitted footstool my Mum made for us.

Bathroom

The bathroom was moved and fitted in early 2016. I wanted it to have more of the feeling of a room with furniture; which is why we selected a sink unit from Roper Rhodes and a large mirror for the wall from The White Company. I also found a ladder shelf from an independent gift shop which has turned into a handy place to store everything. The floor tiles were Topps Tiles and the bath/shower tiles were Laura Ashley.

The downstairs of Elle’s home is in our archive and you can find out more about Elle over on her blog, Feathering The Empty Nest.
